What the Bitsa Card is
Bitsa combines euros and crypto in one app. It is a prepaid Visa that you top up with euros from a bank transfer, payment card, wallet or Bitsa voucher, or with Bitcoin, Ethereum and other supported cryptoassets, which are converted to euros instantly. Each account includes a Spanish IBAN for incoming transfers, and the card works in physical and virtual form, each with its own independent balance.
Where the crypto sits
The crypto side is explicitly a partnership: the service is provided and managed exclusively by Bitnovo, a Spanish crypto platform that has operated since 2015. That is worth knowing because it defines who you are actually relying on when you top up with crypto. Once converted, funds sit as euros on a prepaid card rather than as crypto.
Plans and cashback
There are three plans - FREE, MOVE and PRO - with the free tier offering a national IBAN and no maintenance fees, and the paid tiers adding more cards with separate balances, higher ceilings on purchases and top-ups and fee-free transfers. Cashback is not paid on ordinary purchases: it is earned through the app's gift card catalogue, where discounts on brands such as Spotify, Sony and Nintendo reach up to 15%.
What it costs
Physical cards cost EUR20 and virtual cards EUR2.50, reloads that are not free are charged at 1.5%, international payments cost 1.75% within non-euro SEPA areas and 2% elsewhere, and transfers to a third party outside Pecunpay carry a EUR1.50 fee. Balances are described as insured up to EUR100,000, and crypto reloads are capped at EUR20,000 per day.
Bitsa is a prepaid card rather than an exchange card: euros sit on the card and crypto top-ups come through Bitnovo. That places it between the Bit2Me Card, which is backed by an exchange and a Spanish EMI, and the Credits Debit Card, which is likewise issued by a licensed e-money institution. The crypto card directory lists every European issuer we track.
