What the Credits Debit Card is
Credits.com is an all-in-one wallet that combines a card, a dedicated IBAN and current accounts with cryptocurrency services. The card is described as an officially certified Mastercard crypto debit card programme, and a Visa version is offered on the same plan structure.
The licence behind it
Credits operates as a European-licensed electronic money institution for its cards and IBANs, with PCI DSS certification, strong customer authentication and GDPR compliance. Money in individual IBAN accounts is protected under European legislation and segregated from company assets.
How it works
You open an account in the app or web wallet, verify your identity, and the card is issued for €5. Top-ups can be made by external card, bank transfer, IBAN or crypto, and the wallet holds 20+ currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, CNY, HKD and AED. The card is accepted at 50 million-plus locations and works with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The main cost to understand
Card payments inside the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are free. Anything outside that zone costs €0.60 plus 2% per transaction, which makes the card expensive as a travel card and cheap as a domestic European one.
Credits issues a virtual card through a European e-money institution and keeps it free while you meet the app's usage conditions. Among EU-licensed issuers the closest comparisons are the Bitsa Card, which also gives you a European IBAN, and the Bitwala Card, which publishes a flat fee sheet instead of usage conditions. The crypto cards listing sets out the differences.
