Tether’s USDT0 Stellar Goes Live With $180B Liquidity

USDT0 launches on Stellar with $180B liquidity and global blockchain connectivity.

Summary :

  • USDT0 is now live on Stellar, opening access to $180B+ in USDT liquidity.

  • The asset uses LayerZero's OFT standard with a single supply backed 1:1 by USDT.

  • Kraken, Fireblocks, Bitget and SushiSwap support the launch from day one.

  • Stellar brings sub-cent fees and five-second finality to USDT0 transfers.

  • Emerging markets across Latin America, Africa and Asia-Pacific are the focus.

Tether’s USDT0 Stellar launch brings the world’s most widely used stablecoin to a blockchain designed for fast, efficient cross-border payments. The integration unlocks access to more than $180 billion in USDT liquidity for Stellar’s growing DeFi, fintech, and remittance ecosystem. Rather than functioning like a conventional token listing, USDT0 serves as an infrastructure layer that extends Tether’s USDT across additional networks. Built on LayerZero’s OFT interoperability standard, USDT0 Stellar maintains a unified 1:1-backed supply with USDT, eliminating isolated liquidity pools, wrapped tokens, and reliance on third-party bridging solutions. As a result, Stellar users can access the same global USDT liquidity shared across LayerZero-connected networks from day one.

USDT0 on Stellar changes the liquidity math

For DeFi protocols on Stellar, the launch means they can build around an asset with more than $180 billion in market capitalization — using USDT0 as collateral, borrowing against it, trading it and deploying it across yield opportunities. USDT0 is already available on SushiSwap with more DeFi integrations promised. The arrival also extends the pool of potential participants to markets where USDT is already the primary settlement asset, letting existing holders put capital to work on new rails without converting through an intermediary.

The launch partners read like a map of the stablecoin economy: Kraken, Fireblocks, Bitget, Freighter, Lobstr, Meru, BiLira Kripto, Kredete and Ramp Network all support USDT0 on Stellar from launch, with Exodus coming online soon. For exchanges and payment service providers already operating on Stellar rails, adding USDT0 requires minimal engineering lift — and for partners whose counterparties prefer USDT, it removes the swap costs and operational friction of holding multiple assets. Enterprises can manage USDC, EURC and USDT0 in a single treasury integration on one network.

Why Stellar fits the USDT0 model

Stellar's pitch has always been cheap, fast settlement for real-world payments, and the network's specifications align with how stablecoins are actually used: sub-cent fees, five-second transaction finality and on/off-ramp coverage across more than 170 countries. That profile matters most in the emerging markets of Latin America, Africa and Asia-Pacific — regions where USDT is already the trusted dollar asset and where Stellar has spent years building payments infrastructure. Users there can move the stablecoin they already prefer on rails designed for exactly that job.

The competitive undertone is hard to miss. Stablecoins dominate crypto volume in Argentina, and consumer USDT products are multiplying — every network wants the dollar that settles on it. Stellar has long hosted Circle's USDC and EURC; USDT0 adds the other side of the world's stablecoin duopoly to the same network, making Stellar one of the few chains where both majors live natively.

What the launch signals

For Tether, the expansion continues USDT0's multichain strategy — pushing the largest stablecoin by market capitalization onto every chain where liquidity and payments demand justify it, without fragmenting supply. For developers and institutions evaluating which networks to build on, Stellar now offers the most liquid stablecoin in the world alongside a decade of payments reliability, Soroban smart contracts and growing global regulatory acceptance of stablecoin rails. The infrastructure is ready and the liquidity is live; the next chapter, as the foundation put it, starts now — with more wallets and exchanges expected to support USDT0 on Stellar in the coming months.
