JAIPUR, India, November 2, 2026 — The presence of Cake Wallet at Bitmela marked the open-source, non-custodial wallet's title sponsorship of the festival, which took place on October 30–31, 2026, at InterContinental Jaipur. Used by more than two million people, Cake Wallet supported the event through its branded main stage, exhibition stall and Gala Night launch party.
The brand was hard to miss. The festival’s main stage ran as the Cake Stage, the company had an exhibition stall at the venue, and the schedule billed Gala Night, the opening evening, as Cake Wallet’s launch party.
A message for India from Vik Sharma
Founder Vik Sharma spoke to the festival online from the USA. His 15-minute session on the opening day, “India Has Always Held Its Own Wealth,” closed the Cake Stage programme for the day.
His argument was built for an Indian room: families here have always held their own wealth in gold, and Bitcoin is its natural evolution.
Seth for Privacy on stage in Jaipur
Chief Operating Officer Seth for Privacy attended in person. On the opening day he joined Santosh Vadivelu of Student of Bitcoin for “The Real Cost of Going All In on AI,” a conversation about what it costs to run a business on AI and where a privacy-minded team still draws the line.
The schedule also listed him for “Privacy 101: Your Starter Kit” on the Bitshala Stage that day, a practical session on first steps such as private browsing, password managers and keeping a Bitcoin wallet private. His talk on the second day, “AI That Never Leaves Your Laptop,” looked at why local AI matters.
From a Monero app to a multi-asset wallet
Cake Wallet began in 2018 as the first Monero wallet for iOS. Today it supports Bitcoin, Lightning, Monero, Litecoin, Ethereum, Solana and other assets, with apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Linux. Users hold their own keys, and the code is public under an MIT licence.
The wallet includes a built-in exchange for swapping between supported coins, Cake Pay for spending crypto, and hardware wallet support.
Privacy built into Bitcoin use
Privacy is the thread that runs through the product. Cake Wallet offers Silent Payments, which give users one reusable address while keeping incoming payments unlinkable on-chain. It also offers Payjoin for more private Bitcoin transactions, coin control, and built-in Tor to hide a user’s IP address from nodes and services.
In March 2026 the company added Lightning support, giving users fast, low-fee payments without running their own node. Its privacy approach was the headline of that launch. “Lightning should not require users to sacrifice privacy or custody just to get speed,” Seth for Privacy said at the time, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
Building on its India presence
Bitmela follows other work by Cake Wallet in India. In August 2026 it hosted a campus session on blockchain and Bitcoin fundamentals in Navi Mumbai with Bitcoin Bharat, as part of its Campus Tour initiative.
At Bitmela, it stood alongside supporters including Bitshala, Foundation, Trezor Academy, Fedi, Coconut Wallet and Unocoin, in a programme that ran across talks, workshops and an outdoor mela.
With a non-custodial wallet, you are responsible for your own keys and recovery information. Crypto assets carry risk. This release is for information only and is not financial advice.
