About Sumit Gupta

Sumit Gupta is the Co-Founder and CEO of CoinDCX, one of India's prominent centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. An IIT Bombay alumnus with a background in engineering and entrepreneurship, Gupta developed an early interest in Bitcoin around 2014 and channelled that interest into founding CoinDCX alongside Neeraj Khandelwal in 2018.

CoinDCX was established to address the fragmented and complex landscape of crypto trading in India by providing a unified, compliant platform for retail and institutional users. Under Gupta's leadership, the exchange expanded its product suite to include spot, futures, options, margin trading, an Earn programme, and institutional-grade API and OTC services, along with a venture arm called CoinDCX Ventures.

Gupta has been an active participant in Indian crypto policy discussions, including through the Bharat Web3 Association, advocating for regulatory clarity and sustainable growth of the digital asset sector in India. He continues to lead CoinDCX's strategic direction as of August 2026.
