Bio

Ryan Zarick is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of LayerZero Labs, the company behind LayerZero — the leading cross-chain interoperability protocol. His background in software engineering and distributed systems has shaped the technical architecture of one of the most widely used cross-chain infrastructure protocols.

Zarick co-founded LayerZero with Bryan Pellegrino in 2021. As CTO, he led the engineering of LayerZero's oracle-and-relayer architecture, the omnichain token standard (OFT) and the protocol's expansion to support more than 100 blockchains. His technical work has made LayerZero a critical piece of cross-chain infrastructure, powering omnichain tokens, bridges and messaging for major DeFi protocols.

In 2024, Zarick led the engineering of LayerZero V2, which introduced modular verification, enhanced security features and a more flexible framework for cross-chain application development. He continues to serve as CTO, driving LayerZero's technical roadmap and the expansion of its cross-chain ecosystem. Information last checked: August 2026.
