Koinex ceased all digital-asset operations in June 2019. It is a historical/closed exchange and should not be treated as an active business. Rahul Raj stepped away from FloBiz executive responsibilities in 2025 and is currently exploring his next venture.
Bio
Rahul Raj is the Co-Founder of Koinex, one of India's most prominent multi-cryptocurrency exchanges, and a Co-Founder of FloBiz, the fintech company behind the myBillBook accounting platform for Indian SMBs. He co-founded Koinex in 2017 with Rakesh Yadav and Aditya Naik, building an open order-book exchange that allowed Indian users to trade multiple digital assets against the Indian rupee. Koinex was a significant early player in India's Bitcoin and cryptocurrency market, offering real-time trading, multiple crypto pairs, and a mobile-first approach at a time when the market was rapidly growing. However, facing severe banking restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank of India in April 2018 — which prohibited banks from providing services to crypto businesses — and the prolonged regulatory uncertainty that followed, Koinex terminated all digital-asset operations in June 2019. The exchange is historical and no longer active. Following Koinex's closure, Rahul co-founded FloBiz. His 2025 public post states he has stepped away from FloBiz's day-to-day executive responsibilities while remaining a shareholder and supporter. His personal site describes him as exploring his next venture.
