Bio
Matt Huang is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Paradigm, one of the most prominent crypto-focused investment firms, and Founder and CEO of Tempo, a payments-focused blockchain network co-founded with Stripe. He co-founded Paradigm with Fred Ehrsam in 2018, building a firm known for combining deep technical engagement with long-term investment conviction in crypto infrastructure, DeFi protocols, and emerging blockchain platforms.
Huang holds a B.S. in Mathematics from MIT, as confirmed by Paradigm's official team biography. Before co-founding Paradigm, he was a partner at Sequoia Capital, where he focused on technology investments. Earlier, he founded Hotspots, a Y Combinator-backed company that was acquired by Twitter. He has served on the boards of Stripe and Kalshi, according to Paradigm's team page.
Tempo is a payments blockchain co-founded by Huang (as Founder and CEO) and backed by both Paradigm and Stripe. Tempo is designed for stablecoin-based payments and financial infrastructure, targeting fast and low-cost settlement. As of August 2026, Tempo's exact network status — testnet, mainnet, or production — should be verified against Tempo's own first-party documentation before any specific launch claims are made. Paradigm's 2026 investment strategy spans crypto broadly and has included positions in AI and frontier technology where explicitly stated in firm announcements.
