Bio
Ismail Khoffi is a Co-Founder of Celestia, the modular data-availability blockchain. He co-founded Celestia with Mustafa Al-Bassam and John Adler, bringing engineering experience from the Cosmos/Tendermint ecosystem to the project.
Khoffi worked extensively in the Cosmos/Tendermint community before founding Celestia, where he developed expertise in consensus engineering and light-client design. He contributed to Celestia's light-client and data-availability sampling engineering, helping prepare the protocol for its mainnet launch in October 2023.
A note on his current title: older first-party material listed Khoffi as Celestia Labs CTO, and 2025 professional-event material also used that designation. However, the current 2026 Celestia homepage presents a different Labs leadership structure. This profile uses "Co-Founder of Celestia" as the safe current identity per the PDF's guidance; any active CTO or executive title would require August 2026 first-party re-verification before publication. His co-founder status is well-documented in the official seed-round announcement.
