Bio
Caitlin Long is the Founder and CEO of Custodia Bank (formerly Avanti Financial Group), a Wyoming-chartered special-purpose depository institution focused on Bitcoin banking, digital asset custody, and tokenized deposits. She has spent over two decades on Wall Street in positions at Salomon Brothers, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley before transitioning full-time into Bitcoin and blockchain in 2016.
Long was instrumental in the passage of Wyoming's landmark digital asset legislation, which created a new regulatory framework for crypto companies and special-purpose depository institutions in the state. Before founding Custodia, she also helped lead Symbiont, a blockchain-based financial infrastructure company.
Custodia operates as a state-chartered bank in Wyoming, providing Bitcoin custody and digital asset banking services to institutional clients. It is not federally insured by the FDIC. Custodia has been engaged in a prolonged legal dispute with the Federal Reserve regarding its application for a master account — a case with significant implications for crypto bank regulation. Long's Avit tokenized deposit product operates as a tokenized bank deposit (not a stablecoin) through a partnership with Vantage Bank. As of August 2026, the Federal Reserve master-account litigation and appeal status should be verified from court or regulatory sources for the most current posture.
