Camila Russo is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Defiant, a media platform focused on DeFi, Ethereum, and the broader Web3 ecosystem. She is also the author of The Infinite Machine (2020), a widely read narrative account of Ethereum's founding era and the birth of smart contract platforms.

Before founding The Defiant, Russo was a reporter at Bloomberg News, covering international markets across Latin America and Europe. Her transition from mainstream financial journalism into crypto media began with her deep reporting on Ethereum and decentralized finance, leading her to launch The Defiant as a newsletter in 2019 — which grew into a full newsroom, podcast, and video channel.

The Defiant is independent crypto media covering DeFi protocols, Ethereum developments, governance events, and the broader Web3 industry. Russo holds the combined roles of Founder and Editor-in-Chief. She is not an Ethereum protocol developer or co-founder — her contribution is as a journalist, author, and media entrepreneur who has documented and shaped public understanding of the DeFi space.
