Bio
Avery Ching is a Co-Founder and the current CEO of Aptos Labs, the primary company building infrastructure for the Aptos Layer-1 blockchain. He leads the organization following Mo Shaikh's departure from the CEO role in December 2024.
Ching came to Aptos Labs from Meta, where he worked as a principal engineer on distributed systems and the Diem/Libra blockchain project. He is credited among the engineers who worked on core Aptos primitives including the Move programming model, Block-STM parallel execution engine, and components of the Narwhal/Bullshark consensus lineage.
In 2021 he co-founded Aptos Labs alongside Mo Shaikh. Aptos mainnet launched in October 2022. After Shaikh stepped down in December 2024, Ching became CEO and has since led Aptos Labs' technical and institutional strategy, including its 2026 focus on financial-market infrastructure, payments and enterprise blockchain adoption.
