What the Cash App Card is
Cash App is Block's US money app and its Visa prepaid debit card is the spending layer. There is no monthly fee, no minimum balance and no hidden fee structure; the black and white card designs are free, and paid designs are optional. Balances are eligible for FDIC insurance up to $250,000 through partner banks.
Why it appears in a crypto directory
Cash App is one of the largest consumer on-ramps to bitcoin in the United States, and bitcoin can be bought, held and sold inside the same app as the card. What the card cannot do is spend bitcoin: it draws on your dollar balance only, so it sits here as an adjacent option rather than a crypto card.
What the card gets you
Custom weekly cash back offers at selected merchants, exclusive concert and event presales, Afterpay for splitting eligible past purchases over time with no impact on your credit score, real-time transaction alerts, 24/7 fraud monitoring and instant card locking. Cash App Tags let people from age 6 have a linked way to pay.
Cash App Green
Spending $500 a month on the card, or depositing $300 in paychecks, unlocks Green status: up to $200 in free overdraft coverage, 3.5% savings interest, and free withdrawals at 40,000-plus in-network ATMs. Without overdraft coverage switched on, the card simply declines when the balance will not cover a purchase.
Cash App's card is a US prepaid Visa with no monthly fee, which puts it directly against the PayPal Debit Card — both fund spending from an app balance rather than a bank account. For users who want their crypto holdings to earn rewards while they spend, the Coinbase Card is the closer comparison. Our Best Crypto Cards directory covers the US options in detail.
