What the Cardano Card is
The Cardano Card is the first Cardano-branded payment card, launched through a partnership between EMURGO, Cardano's commercial arm, and Wirex, which issues the card. It is a Visa debit card that spends ADA and more than 685 other cryptocurrencies wherever Visa is accepted, managed entirely from the Wirex app, with virtual issuance available immediately and a physical card - including a metal Elite version - available in limited stock.
Cashback that scales with tier
Rewards are branded Cryptoback and run from up to 1% on the Standard card, through 3% on Premium, to 8% on Elite. The headline 8% is real but tier-gated: Premium costs $11.99 a month and Elite $34.99, so the higher rates only make sense for heavy spenders. Wirex pays Cryptoback in WXT, its own token, while the Cardano Card markets ADA rewards and lists ADA cashback on the Q1-Q2 2026 roadmap - so today you are earning Wirex's token, not ADA. ATM withdrawals, money transfers and categories such as gambling are excluded, and cashback arrives instantly.
Cardano-specific features
Beyond spending, the card plugs into the Cardano ecosystem: you can borrow stablecoins using ADA as collateral through Wirex Credit, earn yield on stablecoins and crypto through X-Accounts, and book hotels through Wirex Travel with discounts advertised up to 65%. Staking your ADA balance from the app, a self-custody wallet, and yield on real-world asset products are all listed as coming soon, which makes the current product custodial with a non-custodial phase promised.
Fees and access
Issuance is free and there is no annual fee. ATM withdrawals are free up to a regional monthly allowance - €200 in the EEA, £200 in the UK, S$200 in Singapore and APAC, A$400 in Australia - then 2%. Premium and Elite carry no FX fee, while Standard converts at interbank rates up to its limit. Card replacements cost $10 and crypto conversions in-app cost around 1%. EEA users also get a personal IBAN, which makes the card more of a full account than a spending add-on.
The Cardano Card is issued by Wirex on EMURGO's behalf, so its closest siblings are Wirex's own products: the Wirex Card, which shares the multi-currency account and the top cashback tier, and the BingX Card, built on the same payment infrastructure. Cardano holders comparing the three should check eligibility, since each has a different country list — the crypto cards directory records availability for every card here.
