What the BenPay Card is
BenPay is the card arm of BenFen, operated by a US-registered fintech holding a FinCEN MSB licence. Its distinguishing idea is that the money sitting on your card does not sit still: card balances are placed into on-chain strategies and earn rewards that settle daily, and you can withdraw or reinvest them the next day. Idle funds grow while they wait to be spent.
Three tiers, one card type
Rather than one product, BenPay sells three card variants you can switch between. Alpha is positioned around no top-up fees, Sigma around no annual fees, and Delta around no monthly fee. All three are described as having zero annual fees, and the card comparison table on the site is where the per-tier detail lives.
Self-custody and limits
Keys stay with the user, and card access is authorised by wallet signature rather than by handing custody to an issuer. You can freeze and unfreeze the card from the app. Spending limits run up to $200,000 per card, which is aimed at high-volume and business use rather than casual spending. Top-ups and withdrawals support USDT and USDC across more than ten chains including Ethereum, Solana, Tron, BSC, Polygon and Arbitrum.
Where it is accepted
The card advertises global acceptance online and offline, support for Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and WeChat Pay, and compatibility with AI subscriptions such as ChatGPT and Claude - a practical use case for stablecoin holders who cannot pay for those services with a local card. Smart contracts are audited by SlowMist.
BenPay keeps funds in self-custody and pitches on-chain yield on the idle balance, the same idea as the Solid Card, which pays 3% to 5% in USDC, and the Rebind Card, whose euro savings earn up to 5%. Whether the yield is paid on-chain or off matters for custody and tax, and the crypto cards directory notes which is which.
