Pendle Lands on Robinhood Chain With sNET Market

Pendle launches its sNET market on Robinhood Chain, expanding DeFi yield opportunities.

Summary :

  • Pendle has gone live on Robinhood Chain with its first sNET market.

  • The market matures Sept. 17, splitting principal from future yield.

  • sNET is the staked form of NET, a Robinhood Chain reserve token.

  • Pendle holds about $1.23 billion in total value locked.

  • More markets will follow as the chain's DeFi economy expands.

Pendle has launched on Robinhood Chain with its first yield-trading market for sNET — bringing fixed-yield products to the two-month-old network's fast-growing DeFi economy and giving the staked token's holders a way to trade tomorrow's yield today, until the market matures on Sept. 17.

Pendle announced the deployment on Sept. 4, opening with a single sNET market:

"Pendle is live on Robinhood Chain. Adding a native layer for fixed yield and yield trading to the chain's DeFi economy. First up is sNET (17 Sep 2026 maturity), with more markets to follow as we expand across the ecosystem!" — Pendle (@pendle_fi), September 4, 2026

The protocol did not name the assets planned for subsequent markets, saying only that more would arrive as the ecosystem develops. Pendle held roughly $1.23 billion in total value locked at the time of the announcement, making it one of DeFi's largest yield protocols — and the deployment gives Robinhood Chain its first native fixed-yield primitive.

How Pendle's sNET market works

The underlying asset gives the market its shape. sNET is the staked form of NET, a reserve-backed token native to Robinhood Chain issued by NetNet Capital, which describes itself as a reserve manager for NET with a treasury containing assets that include the USDG stablecoin and which uses bond sales to acquire treasury assets. Users who stake NET receive sNET and become eligible for distributions under the protocol's staking model — a reserve-backed structure whose value stays exposed to the treasury, market structure and smart contract risk.

Pendle's machinery then splits that position into tradable parts. It wraps the yield-bearing asset in its Standardized Yield format, then divides it into Principal Tokens (PT) and Yield Tokens (YT). A PT represents the underlying principal, redeemable at maturity and tradeable before it — buyers lock in an implied fixed annualized return based on purchase price, though Pendle's own terms are careful to call it an implied rate, not a contractual guarantee. A YT carries the right to the yield the asset generates until maturity; it stops earning when the market expires, so its value decays toward zero as Sept. 17 approaches unless rates or incentives shift. YT buyers get leveraged exposure to yield because they pay only for the income component, but Pendle's documentation warns that long-yield returns can be negative when collected income falls below the purchase price. Liquidity providers earn a mix of swap fees, underlying yield and incentives. For a market with a two-week runway, the calculus is compressed — traders are effectively making a fast bet on sNET distributions through mid-September.

Why Pendle on Robinhood Chain is a milestone

The integration is a signal about where Robinhood Chain's economy is heading. The network launched July 1 as an Arbitrum-based Ethereum L2 with partners including Uniswap, Chainlink, BitGo and Alchemy, pitched by Robinhood Crypto executive Johann Kerbrat as "bringing the best of traditional finance and DeFi together." Since then it has posted $945 million in daily DEX volume, $47 billion cumulative, roughly $1.4 billion TVL, and $4.01 million in application revenue on Sept. 2 alone — a day when it out-earned Solana, Ethereum and Tron. The chain's trading economy is proven; its fee machine keeps compounding; what it has lacked is the deeper money-lego stack that makes DeFi sticky — lending, leverage and now yield curves. Pendle's arrival adds the third leg.

There are caveats worth stating plainly. Reserve-backed token systems of the sNET type carry risks that a yield-trading market amplifies rather than removes, and Pendle's implied fixed rates are only as good as the underlying staking distributions. Robinhood's 90-day gas subsidy for wallet users ends around Sept. 29, and token-quality rating systems are arriving precisely because not every chain asset deserves institutional trust. But the trajectory is unmistakable: a chain that launched with tokenized stocks now has a yield-trading market on a staked reserve token — the same progression Ethereum took years to build, compressed into one quarter. How big sNET trading grows before Sept. 17 will be the chain's first clean read on whether its DeFi economy has real depth, or just real volume.
