Ethereum falling wedge sets up a test of buying strength
The Ethereum falling wedge highlighted in ALLINCRYPTO’s October 19 post puts a potential $2,804 recovery in focus as ETH attempts to stabilize after its recent decline.
In the supplied screenshot, the analyst describes Ethereum as approaching a breakout from an irregular-looking wedge. The accompanying four-hour chart shows descending blue boundaries around a sequence of lower highs and lower lows.
The important detail is that the post anticipates a breakout. It does not provide evidence that Ethereum has already completed one.
At the October 19 market check, CoinGecko showed ETH at approximately $2,430.75, up 0.80% over 24 hours but down 5.30% over seven days. That combination suggests an initial improvement within a weaker weekly performance.
What the chart is suggesting
A falling wedge forms when downward-sloping support and resistance lines move closer together. Price continues making lower highs and lower lows, but the trading range narrows.
Technical analysts often interpret that compression as a possible sign that selling momentum is weakening. The bullish interpretation becomes more credible when price breaks above the upper boundary with stronger participation. The pattern itself does not guarantee that outcome.
For this particular setup, the descending resistance line is the first test. Reaching a horizontal target farther above it would require buyers to sustain the recovery after that initial break.
Because the boundary slopes downward, its exact price changes with time. Treating it as a permanently fixed resistance level would misrepresent the chart.
The setup at a glance
Reference | Level or condition | Interpretation |
Retrieved ETH price | Approximately $2,430.75 | October 19 CoinGecko snapshot |
Analyst’s projected target | $2,804 | Conditional upside objective in the supplied post |
Distance to target | Approximately 15.4% | Calculated from the retrieved price |
Initial confirmation | Four-hour close above descending resistance | Would strengthen the breakout interpretation |
Warning sign | Price returns inside the formation | Would weaken confidence in the initial break |
The confirmation conditions are Bitnxt’s interpretation of the setup. They are not additional claims made by the analyst.
Why the $2,804 objective remains conditional
From the retrieved market price, reaching $2,804 would require a gain of approximately $373 per ETH.
That calculation describes the distance to the target. It does not indicate the probability of reaching it.
The screenshot also does not explain the complete measurement behind the target. It would therefore be inaccurate to present $2,804 as an independently verified fair value or a guaranteed measured move.
A more informative sequence would be a close above resistance, continued trading above it and evidence that buyers can defend the area during a pullback. An intraday spike followed by an immediate reversal would offer weaker support for the bullish thesis.
ETF withdrawals add a separate demand question
Ethereum’s technical setup is developing alongside weak recent demand through US spot ETF products.
Adding Farside Investors’ displayed daily totals gives approximately $320.1 million in net withdrawals during October 12–16. Tuesday attracted inflows, but the remaining four sessions finished negative.
Those withdrawals do not rule out a price recovery. ETFs represent one investment channel, while Ethereum trades across global spot and derivatives markets.
They do mean that a chart-led rebound should not automatically be described as a return of institutional buying. Bitnxt’s report on Ethereum fund withdrawals alongside Bitcoin’s brief positive session provides the earlier daily context.
Enthusiasm needs to translate into sustained demand
Market attention can improve before price establishes a durable recovery. It can also fade without producing one.
That distinction is relevant to Bitnxt’s coverage of Ethereum becoming the crowd favourite while Bitcoin and XRP sentiment turned cautious.
For readers evaluating the wider investment picture, our explanation of Bitcoin ETF flows and the limits of institutional-demand claims sets out why fund activity, investor identity and price performance should be assessed separately.
Bitnxt View: The first milestone is a convincing breakout
The $2,804 projection gives traders a clear upside reference. The more immediate question is whether Ethereum can move beyond descending resistance and remain there.
For Bitnxt, a sustained break supported by stronger trading activity would improve the recovery case. Repeated rejection—or a breakout that quickly fails—would leave the recent downtrend harder to dismiss.
Until that test is resolved, this is best presented as a conditional Ethereum recovery setup, with the analyst’s target providing a scenario to monitor.
