Anthropic IPO Roadshow Slips to Mid-October

Anthropic IPO roadshow delay illustrated with a rescheduled calendar and investor presentation.

Summary :

  • Anthropic's IPO roadshow is now expected in mid-October at the earliest.

  • The public prospectus has slipped from early September to late September.

  • Some investors place a potential listing valuation at $2 trillion.

  • A $15 billion revolving credit facility is being finalized before the filing.

  • Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Citi are working on the deal.

The Anthropic IPO has slipped: the company's public prospectus is now expected in late September and its investor roadshow in mid-October at the earliest, pushing one of history's largest planned listings to within days of the November midterms — and leaving crypto's pre-IPO futures markets to reprice a timing they had already bet on.

Reuters reported Friday that Anthropic could begin marketing the offering in mid-October, citing people familiar with the preparations, with a possible completion days before the Nov. 3 U.S. midterm elections. Under an earlier schedule, the prospectus was expected as soon as the week beginning Sept. 7; two sources now say the document is unlikely to become public until late September. The sources cautioned the timetable remains fluid, as it has been all year.

What a delayed Anthropic IPO means for markets

The mechanics around the filing explain the delay's significance. Publishing the prospectus — the Form S-1 disclosure package — moves an offering into its final stages, giving investors the company's first audited financial performance, risk factors and proposed terms. Before that document exists, every valuation number in circulation is an estimate from private-share and tokenized pre-IPO markets, and those markets have been aggressive: tokenized pre-IPO trading on Jupiter's Prestocks platform implied roughly $1.2 trillion in May, Forge Global secondary trades priced Anthropic near $1 trillion, and some investors now told Reuters a listing could value the company at as much as $2 trillion. Anthropic completed a Series G at a $380 billion post-money valuation in February, then another round in May at $965 billion, saying annualized revenue had exceeded $47 billion.

The company is also working to finalize a $15 billion revolving credit facility, with analysts from participating banks expected to meet management after it completes — a step that typically precedes a prospectus by several weeks. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup are among the banks on the offering, and each declined to comment. The capital requirements driving that facility are enormous: Anthropic has proposed leasing up to $10 billion of computing capacity from Meta's Prometheus data center in Ohio, signed a $35 billion cloud agreement with Nvidia-backed Lambda for a Texas facility, and committed roughly $45 billion over six years to Nscale's West Virginia campus.

Crypto markets already trade the Anthropic IPO

What makes the timeline a crypto story is that the Anthropic IPO is already a crypto-traded event. Pre-IPO perpetual futures launched on Coinbase and Binance in June and fell as much as 9% in their debut sessions, with Coinbase warning traders the final IPO price could differ by as much as 25% from futures levels — the contracts track expectations for a future reference value, not ownership. When a roadshow moves by weeks, those perpetuals reprice instantly, and the gap between tokenized pre-IPO estimates and eventual S-1 financials is exactly where retail traders get hurt. The history is cautionary in the other direction too: Anthropic shares seized from FTX executives were sold in 2025, meaning some of crypto's oldest wounds are embedded in this listing's share register.

The context is a broader collision between crypto products and equity exposure. Robinhood's stock tokens are fighting AMC in public, Kalshi keeps adding regulated perpetuals, and tokenized pre-IPO trading has become a speculative asset class of its own — all of it premised on eventual public listings that set the reference prices. OpenAI, meanwhile, confidentially filed for its own IPO in June, raising the prospect of the two largest AI listings in history competing for the same window. Anthropic has not publicly confirmed a valuation, share count, offering size or final date, and the sources' timetable could change again — but mid-October now stands as the marker, and every synthetic market tracking this listing has until then to argue about the number.
