Kalshi Adds 5 New Crypto Perpetuals for U.S. Traders

Kalshi adds five new crypto perpetual contracts for U.S. traders.

Summary :

  • Kalshi added perpetuals on BNB, ADA, WLD, AAVE and Venice Token.

  • The contracts are USD-margined with no expiration date.

  • Maximum leverage varies, about 4.5x on BNB and 1.9x on VVV.

  • Kalshi now lists Bitcoin plus 17 altcoin perpetuals.

  • The CFTC moved to dismiss CME's lawsuit over perp classification.

Kalshi has added five new crypto Kalshi perpetuals for U.S. traders — BNB, Cardano, Worldcoin, Aave and Venice Token — expanding a regulated onshore lineup that now covers Bitcoin plus 17 altcoins and pressing the advantage while its regulator fights the industry's legal challenge to the product's very classification.

The contracts went live Sept. 4 for eligible U.S. traders: margined and settled in U.S. dollars, with no expiration date, allowing long or short positions on each reference price. Maximum leverage varies by asset, reaching roughly 4.5 times for BNB and 1.9 times for Venice Token. The additions bring Kalshi's lineup to Bitcoin and 17 altcoin perpetuals, joining existing markets on Ether, XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Zcash, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. The launch was flagged across crypto X:

"BREAKING: BNB, Cardano, Worldcoin, AAVE and Venice Token Perps Now Live on Kalshi. US CFTC continues perpetual futures approval despite CME lawsuit. USD-margined, no expiry, leverage varies by asset (BNB ~4.5x, VVV ~1.9x). U.S. traders can now go long/short these." — Rednirav (@CryptoRednirav), September 4, 2026

What the new Kalshi perpetuals cover

The five additions span the market's major narratives. BNB is the native asset of BNB Chain, ADA supports Cardano, and AAVE is the governance token of the Aave lending protocol — while Worldcoin's WLD and Venice Token's VVV provide exposure to AI-linked projects. The contracts provide price exposure without requiring traders to hold the underlying assets, with gains and losses depending on reference-price changes and the trader's position. The usual leveraged-product caveats apply with force: leverage magnifies returns and liquidation risk alike, a small adverse move can erase a position's margin, and perpetuals carry recurring funding or adjustment costs intended to keep contract prices near spot. The availability of a contract also says nothing about the underlying token's value, security or regulatory classification.

One procedural note deserves precision: the new products appeared after Kalshi submitted contract materials through the CFTC's public filing system, but a filing's presence in the database does not always mean the full commission held an affirmative vote on that individual contract — registered exchanges can introduce some products through certification or review procedures. Describing every listing as a separate CFTC "approval" overstates the regulator's role.

The CME lawsuit shadowing the expansion

The expansion continues while the product's legal treatment remains contested in federal court. CME Group sued the CFTC after the regulator authorized Kalshi's Bitcoin perpetual contract and issued related relief for Coinbase, arguing that perpetual products should be treated as swaps under the Dodd-Frank Act rather than as conventional futures — a classification that would subject them to a different regulatory structure. On Sept. 2, the CFTC moved to dismiss the suit, arguing CME lacks standing because it can offer comparable products through its own registered exchange. "This lawsuit is much ado about nothing," the regulator's lawyers wrote — a legal position, not a court finding. The court has not ruled on either the standing question or the products' classification, and the agency has requested oral argument.

Kalshi's cadence shows the strategy: launch first, let the courts catch up. The platform introduced Bitcoin perpetuals after CFTC authorization in May, then added XRP, Zcash, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and others, with filings for XLM, DOT and HBAR reportedly awaiting completion. For U.S. traders, Coinbase's stock-perp filing and Polymarket's 20x offshore launch frame the same convergence — every venue is racing to let one account trade everything. The difference is that Kalshi's version runs inside the U.S. regulatory perimeter, at 4.5x leverage instead of 20x, under the exact rules the CME suit says were stretched. If the court sides with the CFTC, the onshore perp market this expansion anticipates gets its legal foundation; if it sides with CME, five tokens added on a Thursday become evidence of how far the frontier moved before the law arrived.
