Bio
Michael Ashby is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of AlgoQuant, a quantitative trading firm transitioning from proprietary trading and external-manager allocation toward digital-asset management. He joined in 2024 after serving as Head of Digital Assets Strategic Implementation at Point72 and COO of Meraki Global Advisors. Earlier roles included Thunderbird Partners, Ziff Brothers Investments, Jabre Capital Partners and Man GLG. He holds degrees in economics and finance from Rollins College and SOAS University of London.
AlgoQuant
AlgoQuant manages internal quantitative strategies, allocates to external managers and has been building an asset-management unit. Separate proprietary capital from external client assets and advisory mandates. Quantitative trading carries model, liquidity, execution, counterparty, custody and operational risk. Regulatory status and fund domicile must be verified per product. Do not describe proprietary trading capital as client AUM. Do not publish return claims without period, methodology and audited support.
