Lior Yaffe is Co-Founder, Core Developer, and Director of Jelurida, the Swiss software company that develops and maintains the Ardor and Nxt blockchain platforms. Jelurida was founded by Yaffe alongside Kristina Kalcheva and Petko Petkov, who are also formally listed as co-founders by the company.
Yaffe holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the Technion — Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, as stated by Jelurida's official team documentation. Before entering the blockchain space, he led development and product management of a mainframe integration product at Software AG, one of the world's largest enterprise software companies. This enterprise software background informed Jelurida's focus on permissioned and hybrid blockchain deployments for enterprise and government clients.
His connection to the Nxt blockchain ecosystem predates Jelurida's formal founding. Nxt was one of the earliest proof-of-stake blockchain platforms, launching in 2013, and Yaffe was a core developer on the project before co-founding Jelurida in 2016 to continue its development and build Ardor. Ardor introduced a parent-child chain architecture designed to address blockchain bloat by separating transaction processing from security. The Ignis chain serves as one of the key child chains on Ardor. In 2026, Jelurida continues supporting Ardor, Nxt, and Ignis, with ongoing development, enterprise deployments, and technical documentation maintained by Yaffe and the core team.
