Jihan Wu is the Chairman and CEO of Bitdeer Technologies Group (Nasdaq: BTDR) and the Chairman of Matrixport, a digital asset financial services firm. He co-founded Bitmain with Micree Zhan in 2013, building it into the world's dominant manufacturer of Bitcoin ASIC mining hardware through the Antminer product line. He also helped translate the Bitcoin whitepaper into Mandarin in Bitcoin's early years, contributing to Chinese-speaking communities' access to the technology.
Following a shareholder dispute and restructuring at Bitmain, Wu departed from Bitmain in 2021. He has since focused on Bitdeer, a Nasdaq-listed company operating large-scale Bitcoin mining, cloud mining, data centers, and an ASIC chip design program under the SEALMINER brand. Bitdeer has also expanded into AI and HPC data center services. Matrixport, where Wu serves as Chairman, provides regulated crypto financial services including structured products, custody, and lending. The two companies are separate entities with distinct governance.
