Jaynti Kanani is a co-founder of Polygon, formerly known as Matic Network, and the founder of Morphic, his current primary venture. With a background in software engineering, Kanani was one of the earliest builders to focus on making Ethereum transactions faster and more affordable through scalable sidechain and rollup infrastructure.
In 2017, Kanani co-founded Matic Network alongside Sandeep Nailwal and Anurag Arjun. The project launched its mainnet in 2020 and rebranded to Polygon in 2021, reflecting a broader strategy to support multiple Ethereum-scaling approaches including Plasma, zkEVM and the Agglayer architecture. Kanani served in a leading engineering and strategic capacity during Polygon's formative growth period and stepped back from day-to-day Polygon Labs operations in 2023.
His current primary professional identity is associated with Morphic, a new venture whose focus and product details should be verified from first-party sources before publication. Polygon in 2026 is led by a distinct leadership team pursuing payments, the Open Money Stack and Agglayer cross-chain interoperability. Information last checked: August 2026.
