Jared Tate is the Founder of DigiByte, a proof-of-work blockchain launched in 2014, and serves as CEO of BlockIndex.AI, an AI and blockchain data infrastructure company. He founded DigiByte as a Bitcoin-derived blockchain with several technical differences: multi-algorithm mining (reducing ASIC dominance), faster block times, and a focus on on-chain security and decentralization. He is also the author of the book Blockchain 2035 and studied at the College of Idaho.
DigiByte has no conventional corporate structure or CEO — it is a fully decentralized, community-governed blockchain, and Tate's current influence over the network is informal rather than formal. He has publicly distanced himself from Yuga Enterprises and other commercial ventures that used the DigiByte name. His primary current focus is BlockIndex.AI, which applies blockchain data indexing and AI-based analysis to financial and on-chain data.
