Fred Ehrsam is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nudge, a neurotechnology company, and Co-Founder of both Coinbase and Paradigm. His career spans the earliest years of mainstream crypto to frontier technology at the intersection of neuroscience and computing. He co-founded Coinbase with Brian Armstrong in 2012 after working as a foreign exchange trader at Goldman Sachs, where he studied economics at Duke University. He served as President of Coinbase until 2017 and continues as a Co-Founder and Board Director.
In 2018, he co-founded Paradigm with Matt Huang as a research-driven crypto investment firm. His current profile at Paradigm identifies him as Co-Founder and Senior Advisor, not as a day-to-day managing partner. Since 2023, his primary operating focus has shifted to Nudge, where he is building at the intersection of neurotechnology and human performance.
