Brendan Blumer

Co-Founder & CEO of Block.one; Chairman of Bullish, Block.one / Bullish

Block.one / Bullish website

Bio

Brendan Blumer is the Co-Founder and CEO of Block.one and Chairman of Bullish, a regulated digital asset exchange. His career path moved from internet gaming and virtual asset businesses into blockchain infrastructure and crypto exchange development.

Before Block.one, Blumer built internet and virtual-asset businesses including Gamecliff (a virtual gaming asset trading platform) and Okay.com (a real estate listings platform in Asia). He co-founded Block.one — the company that developed the EOSIO blockchain software and conducted the landmark EOS token sale in 2018, raising approximately $4.1 billion. Block.one subsequently invested those proceeds into a portfolio of crypto companies, most notably founding and seeding Bullish.

Bullish is now a regulated crypto exchange with its own public market presence. The EOS network itself is governed independently today by the EOS Network Foundation (ENF), not by Block.one — Blumer is not the CEO or owner of the EOS blockchain network. As of August 2026, Blumer holds the Chairman role at Bullish and continues as CEO of Block.one, which operates as a crypto investment and technology company rather than a direct blockchain developer.

Founded Bullish, a regulated digital asset exchange that went public, bringing institutional-grade crypto trading infrastructure to market.

EOS Token Sale

Conducted the EOS year-long ICO in 2017–2018, raising approximately $4.1 billion — one of the largest fundraises in technology history at the time.

Virtual Asset Business Pioneer

Built Gamecliff and Okay.com before crypto, demonstrating early expertise in virtual asset markets that directly informed Block.one's blockchain product direction.

SEC Settlement Precedent

Block.one's 2019 $24M SEC settlement established an early precedent for regulatory resolution of large ICO fundraises, informing how subsequent projects approached compliance.
