Bio
Arthur Breitman is the Co-Founder of Tezos, a Layer-1 blockchain distinguished by its self-amending protocol and on-chain governance mechanism. He co-created Tezos with Kathleen Breitman, who remains a co-founder with equal attribution.
Breitman's academic background spans applied mathematics, and his pre-crypto career included quantitative finance roles at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, as well as research engineering experience at Google and Waymo — all of which informed the formal, mathematically rigorous approach he applied to Tezos' protocol design. He is currently a member of the Tezos Foundation Council and is associated with Trilitech, a Tezos ecosystem development company.
Tezos is governed through on-chain voting by its token holders (XTZ/tez), allowing the protocol to upgrade without hard forks. The network has undergone numerous governance-approved protocol upgrades since its 2018 mainnet launch. Breitman continues to contribute to protocol research and proposals, including work on LST/sTEZ staking infrastructure, though individual proposals must pass on-chain governance before adoption.
