The Doppler XRP Vault has crossed 90 million XRP in total value locked, according to the project’s official announcement. The milestone puts attention on a growing question for XRP holders: can their coins generate additional returns while they retain exposure to the asset?
“Doppler’s XRP Vault has crossed 90,000,000 XRP in total value locked,” the team said in its announcement channel.
The figure describes the vault’s reported asset balance. It does not mean the product generated 90 million XRP in yield—or attracted that amount in new deposits during a single day.
Its significance lies in the amount allocated to a product whose appeal extends beyond waiting for XRP’s market price to rise.
Doppler XRP Vault: what the milestone measures
A token-denominated figure provides a useful reference because it separates the quantity of XRP from changes in its dollar price.
For illustration, 90 million XRP would be worth $126 million at $1.40 per coin. That is a calculation using an assumed price, rather than a live valuation.
Measure | What it tells readers |
90 million XRP milestone | Reported quantity allocated to the vault |
Dollar-denominated TVL | Asset quantity multiplied by the valuation price |
Net deposits | Deposits minus withdrawals during a specified period |
Yield generated | Returns earned through the product’s strategies |
A rise in dollar TVL can result from a higher XRP price without additional deposits. An increase in the XRP balance can reflect deposits, credited returns or a combination of factors.
The milestone announcement does not provide a complete breakdown of those contributions.
Where the XRP yield comes from
Doppler describes a CeDeFi model, combining blockchain transfers with institutional custody infrastructure and trading operations.
Its documentation identifies two example strategies:
Asset-neutral arbitrage: capturing price differences across venues while seeking to accumulate more units of the deposited asset.
Spot–perpetual arbitrage: using offsetting spot and derivatives positions to capture funding-rate opportunities.
These strategies aim to limit directional trading exposure. Their performance still depends on execution, financing, counterparties and market conditions.
The distinction from staking is important. XRPL does not pay XRP rewards to validators for operating the network. Doppler’s returns therefore come from financial activities arranged through the product, rather than rewards issued by XRP’s consensus mechanism.
A holder earning more XRP also remains exposed to its price. An increase in coin balance can coexist with a decline in dollar value.
What the reported 3% APR means
Doppler’s October 9, 2026 distribution update said the XRP Vault’s yield for that reporting week was approximately 3% APR.
That is an annualised rate—not a 3% return earned in one week. The update says distributions use the average balance over the week and that APR can vary with market conditions.
For a simplified illustration, 10,000 XRP earning a constant 3% annual rate would generate approximately 300 XRP over a year, before considering compounding or changes in the applicable terms.
The illustration is not a forecast. A recent distribution rate does not establish what future weeks will deliver.
Custody and withdrawals are part of the product
Doppler’s published asset-flow documentation describes deposits passing through Fireblocks-based wallet infrastructure, then being allocated through off-exchange settlement arrangements, including services such as Ceffu and Copper ClearLoop.
The purpose is to support trading strategies while controlling how assets are held and transferred. These arrangements should not be interpreted as eliminating every counterparty risk.
The XRP Vault documentation lists the following terms:
Product feature | Published arrangement |
Deposit asset | XRP transferred on the XRP Ledger |
Return denomination | XRP |
Compounding | Automatic |
Withdrawal notice | Seven days after a request |
Processing | Batch processing around 01:00 UTC |
Deposit and withdrawal fees | No platform fee; network fees apply |
The scheduled processing time converts to approximately 6:30 AM IST. Actual completion depends on the withdrawal becoming eligible and operational processing.
That withdrawal period matters for holders who may need quick access to their assets.
Self-custody and a managed yield allocation serve different purposes. Readers comparing storage arrangements can explore Bitnxt’s crypto wallet directory.
A larger balance does not answer every risk question
Doppler’s own risk documentation identifies counterparty, liquidity and cybersecurity risks.
Trading partners can incur losses or become insolvent. Custody systems can be compromised. Redemptions can be delayed during market stress or operational disruption. The documentation also says any insurance coverage depends on the particular policy’s limitations and exclusions.
Proof of reserves can help establish that identified assets exist at a particular point. It does not, by itself, establish all liabilities, every trading exposure or the ability to meet simultaneous withdrawals.
For readers assessing the product, the useful follow-up information includes allocation details, realised returns, withdrawal performance and the scope of independent verification.
The reported TVL milestone provides evidence of scale. It cannot substitute for those measures.
The next phase remains a roadmap
In its September 28 strategy update, Doppler outlined plans extending beyond its existing vaults.
Those plans include managed vaults, additional networks, lending infrastructure and transferable representations of vault positions. The company specifically described XRPL lending development as subject to XLS-66 Mainnet activation.
It also stated that existing vault positions were recorded on Doppler’s side and could not yet be moved between wallets or used as collateral in another protocol. Transferable receipt tokens were listed as being built.
These are meaningful potential developments, but the deposit milestone does not confirm their launch.
The broader direction connects with Bitnxt’s coverage of commodity tokenization on XRPL and its analysis of institutional blockchain infrastructure.

Bitnxt’s view: the next useful milestone is performance
Bitnxt’s assessment: Crossing 90 million XRP makes Doppler a product worth watching within XRP’s financial ecosystem. It indicates substantial assets allocated to the vault, while leaving important questions about depositor concentration, net flows and strategy performance unanswered.
The next meaningful evidence would be sustained, clearly documented returns alongside dependable withdrawals and transparent reporting.
For XRP holders, the choice is broader than whether the token’s price will rise. It also involves deciding whether an additional return justifies the custody, counterparty and liquidity exposure required to pursue it.
