The latest Arthur Hayes altcoin buys put three different areas of crypto infrastructure in focus. Tracking reports published on October 15 attributed approximately $888,000 in AERO, PENDLE and ZAMA acquisitions to the investor, with Aerodrome’s token accounting for the largest portion.
The activity offers a snapshot of reported positioning. It does not establish that Hayes has announced a new portfolio strategy or endorsed these assets publicly.
The reported allocation
Token | Reported quantity | Approximate tracked value |
AERO | 546,610 | $459,800 |
PENDLE | 120,000 | $231,600 |
ZAMA | 3,000,000 | $196,700 |
Total | — | $888,100 |
Dollar values are tracker estimates. The quantities and valuations were reported with differing degrees of rounding.
Calculated from those estimates, AERO represented approximately 52%, PENDLE 26% and ZAMA 22% of the reported value.
That describes this group of transactions—not Hayes’s entire portfolio.
The X post behind the screenshot
Lookonchain’s original X post reported the three token amounts shown in the screenshot. Separate reporting attributed a similar breakdown to Onchain Lens and identified FalconX and Flowdesk as the counterparties involved.
For readers exploring how negotiated transactions differ from exchange order-book trades, Bitnxt’s crypto OTC directory provides related platform information. A transfer involving a trading intermediary, however, does not by itself reveal the complete commercial arrangement.
Three tokens, three different businesses
The selection is more informative when examined by function rather than treated as a single “altcoin” trade.
AERO: exchange liquidity on Base
Aerodrome describes itself as a trading and liquidity marketplace on Base. Its core business connects token trading with liquidity provision and incentives.
Bitnxt analysis: The relevant questions for an AERO investment include the durability of trading activity and how protocol incentives translate into token-holder economics. A notable wallet acquisition does not answer those questions.
PENDLE: separating principal from future yield
Pendle’s documentation explains that yield-bearing assets can be divided into Principal Tokens, or PT, and Yield Tokens, or YT. Those components can then be traded separately.
PT represents the principal component, while YT represents entitlement to the asset’s yield under the applicable structure.
Buying PENDLE should not be confused with buying one of those principal or yield instruments. The reported acquisition concerns the protocol’s token, rather than evidence of a particular fixed-yield position.
Readers examining the underlying economics can revisit Bitnxt’s explanation of where stablecoin yield comes from, which distinguishes lending, trading fees and other sources of returns.
ZAMA: computation on encrypted data
Zama uses fully homomorphic encryption, or FHE, to allow computations to be performed on encrypted information. Its official materials describe applications involving confidential balances and transfer amounts on public blockchains.
The project identifies protocol fees and staking as utilities for the ZAMA token.
Bitnxt analysis: This is a different exposure from exchange liquidity or yield trading. Its investment case depends partly on whether developers and users adopt confidential applications and generate demand for the underlying infrastructure.
What the transactions cannot tell us
A blockchain transfer can establish that tokens moved between addresses. Interpreting that movement as a purchase additionally depends on wallet labels, transaction context and the tracker’s analysis.
The screenshot and published reports do not independently establish:
The precise price paid for each token.
Whether the transactions form part of a larger or hedged position.
How long the recipient intends to retain the assets.
Whether Hayes personally controls every address involved.
The distinction matters because “worth $460,000 when tracked” and “purchased for exactly $460,000” are different claims.
Hayes’s public market commentary is another separate source of information. Bitnxt’s earlier report on his Ethereum rally forecast covers an expressed market view; these wallet reports do not establish that the new activity implements that forecast.
Bitnxt view: follow the positions beyond the alert
Bitnxt analysis: The interesting feature is the spread across three functions: trading liquidity, yield markets and confidentiality. It is reasonable to examine those themes together, but the available evidence does not establish a unified investment thesis from Hayes.
Follow-through will be more revealing than the initial alert. Retention, additional acquisitions or later transfers may help clarify positioning, although each still requires context.
For now, the defensible conclusion is that trackers attributed a roughly $888,000 group of acquisitions to Hayes. It is a reported allocation snapshot, not a price target or a signal that these tokens must outperform.
