Will Warren is the Co-Founder and CEO of 0x Labs, the company that built and continues to develop the 0x Protocol — an open, permissionless infrastructure layer enabling the peer-to-peer exchange of Ethereum-based assets. Together with co-founder Amir Bandeali, Warren launched 0x in 2016 with the goal of making decentralized exchange a core piece of the web3 stack, accessible to developers building any application that requires asset swaps.
Warren holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego, where he also pursued doctoral research in structural engineering before leaving academia to focus on Ethereum and the emerging DeFi ecosystem. Prior to 0x, he conducted research at Los Alamos National Laboratory and worked on applied physics and robotics projects at UCSD.
Under his leadership, 0x Labs has shipped the 0x API — a smart order routing layer that aggregates liquidity from dozens of on-chain and off-chain sources — and Matcha, a consumer-facing DEX aggregator built on the 0x protocol. In 2026, the team expanded cross-chain routing capabilities and introduced support for tokenized equities (xStocks), positioning 0x at the intersection of traditional finance and on-chain markets. Warren has consistently advocated for MEV protection as a core user right in DeFi.
