Bio
Galia Benartzi is a Co-Founder of Bancor Protocol, one of the earliest automated on-chain liquidity protocols in the Ethereum ecosystem. She co-founded Bancor alongside Guy Benartzi, Eyal Hertzog, and other formally recognized founders, launching the project in 2017. Bancor introduced a mechanism for tokens to maintain continuous on-chain liquidity without requiring a counterparty, using algorithmic pricing models that influenced subsequent automated market maker (AMM) development. Claims that any single founder individually invented the AMM concept are historically contested and oversimplified.
Before entering crypto, Galia Benartzi was involved in mobile gaming through Mytopia and Particle Code, and had roles in venture contexts including Founders Fund affiliates. Bancor has since evolved significantly — its older liquidity-mining mechanics from v2 and v3 have been superseded, and the current flagship product is Carbon DeFi, an automated on-chain trading tool featuring limit-order and grid-trading strategies. As of August 2026, her exact active operational role within Bancor or Carbon DeFi has not been independently confirmed beyond her historical co-founder status.
