Björn Schmidtke ceased serving as Aurelion CEO effective 30 June 2026. Frank Zheng succeeded him per Aurelion's SEC filing. He is not listed as founder of Aurelion.
Bio
Björn Schmidtke is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Penguin Group, a clean-energy technology, data-center and Bitcoin-mining business developed in Paraguay. He co-founded Penguin in 2015, initially as a Swiss digital/technology business that subsequently expanded operations into Paraguay.
Penguin Group
Penguin presents its mission as converting Paraguay's abundant renewable electricity into digital infrastructure, technology employment and human capital. Activities have included education programs, data-center operations and clean-energy Bitcoin-mining. Penguin's current confirmed 2026 operations should be verified from its official site before publication.
Aurelion — Former Role
Schmidtke served as Chief Executive Officer of Nasdaq-listed Aurelion Inc. from October 10, 2025 through June 30, 2026. During his tenure, Aurelion adopted a treasury strategy centered on XAUt, a token issued by TG Commodities and backed by allocated physical gold. Aurelion also maintains wealth and asset-management activities. On June 30, 2026, Frank Zheng succeeded him as CEO, per Aurelion's SEC 6-K filing. Schmidtke should not be called current Aurelion CEO or Aurelion founder. Aurelion's treasury assets — including the 33,318 XAUt units disclosed for March 31, 2026 — are not Schmidtke's personal holdings. Post-June 2026 Aurelion initiatives should not be attributed to him unless an official advisory or board role is documented.
Early Career
Earlier in his career, Schmidtke worked at McKinsey & Company; verify exact office, dates and role before publication.
