Loto-Quebec

Loto-Québec is a Crown corporation of the Government of Québec, Canada, and the province's exclusive provider of lottery, casino, online gaming, and sports betting products. Established in 1969, it is one of North America's oldest government-owned gaming operators, generating approximately $2.9 billion in annual revenue and returning the majority of its net profit to the Province of Québec to fund public services, infrastructure, and community programs.

Loto-Québec administers Québec's bingo and charitable gaming programs, working with local non-profit organizations to share proceeds from electronic bingo halls and community gaming centres.

1969 — Foundation

The Société des loteries du Québec was established by the Government of Québec under the Act respecting the Société des loteries du Québec to operate province-wide lottery games, beginning with the launch of the Inter-Loto draw.

1975 — Merger & Rebranding

The corporation merged with the Société d'administration de la loterie and was renamed Loto-Québec, consolidating all provincial lottery operations under a single Crown entity.

1993 — Casino Expansion

Loto-Québec opened its first casino, Casino de Montréal, in 1993, followed by Casino de Charlevoix (1994), Casino du Lac-Leamy (1996), and Casino de Mont-Tremblant (2009), establishing a network of four full-service gaming properties across the province.

2010 — Espacejeux.com Launch

Loto-Québec launched Espacejeux.com, the first regulated online casino in North America, initially offering lottery ticket sales, instant-win games, and a limited selection of online casino games, later expanding to include live dealer, poker, and sports betting.

2012 — Modernization Strategy

Loto-Québec implemented a modernization strategy to optimize its land-based and digital operations, including the renovation of Casino de Montréal (completed in 2013) and the expansion of its online gaming catalogue.

2021 — Single-Event Sports Betting

Following the August 2021 federal amendment to the Criminal Code, Loto-Québec expanded its Mise-o-jeu sports betting product to include single-event wagering, both at retail and online.

2022-2024 — Digital Growth
