Overview

The D'CENT Biometric Wallet is a credit-card-shaped hardware wallet from D'CENT (IoTrust Co., Ltd., South Korea) that unlocks every transaction with a fingerprint — no PIN typing, no passphrase-recall anxiety. After enrolling up to two fingerprints during the 5-minute setup, you simply tap the device, place your enrolled finger on the sensor, and your transaction is approved instantly.

Secure. Wireless. iOS-friendly. The Biometric Wallet pairs over encrypted Bluetooth with iOS and Android phones running the D'CENT app, so an iPhone user can sign transactions without a Lightning-to-USB-C OTG adapter — a real differentiator versus Ledger and Trezor in the iOS market. USB-C is also available as a fallback wired connection. The wallet connects to the phone and transmits only public-key data over the air; your private key stays inside the device's secure element at all times.

CC EAL5+ secure element and offline key generation. The Biometric Wallet's chip is certified to Common Criteria EAL5+, one of the highest CC levels available in a consumer hardware wallet. The chip encrypts your private keys, runs all signing on-device, and auto-resets if a tamper attempt is detected. The private key is generated off the phone, inside the hardware, so it never touches a browser, an installed app or an online service. An automatic firmware authenticity check runs every time the device powers on to prevent unauthorized software modifications.

The widest supported-asset list of any card-form wallet. The D'CENT app manages 4,900+ cryptocurrencies across over 100 blockchain networks from one wallet: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT (native on many chains), BNB, Solana, USDC, XRP, Doge, TRX, Cardano, Avalanche, Shib, Link, Polygon, Dai, LTC, Uni, Op and a long tail of popular ERC-20 / BEP-20 / TRC-20 / SPL tokens. New coin support is published on D'CENT's weekly roadmap. The wallet also supports in-app staking for PoS assets (Cosmos, Polkadot, Tezos, Tron, Cardano and more), plus in-app dApp / Web3 signing on EVM chains and Solana.

Pros

  • Fingerprint unlock lets you sign a transaction with a single touch — no PIN typing
  • Credit-card shape slips into any existing wallet slot, no second device to carry
  • CC EAL5+ certified secure element auto-resets if a tamper attempt is detected
  • Offline key generation: private key is created inside the hardware, never exposed to a browser or phone app
  • Encrypted Bluetooth pairing with iOS AND Android — iPhone users don't need a Lightning-to-USB-C OTG adapter
  • Automatic firmware authenticity check at every power-on prevents unauthorized software modifications
  • Supports 4,900+ cryptocurrencies across 100+ blockchain networks
  • In-app staking for PoS networks (Cosmos, Polkadot, Tezos, Tron, Cardano) with variable APYs
  • In-app dApp / Web3 browser for signing on-chain DeFi approvals with your fingerprint
  • Buy, swap and earn modules built directly into the D'CENT mobile app
  • Wallet setup completes in under 5 minutes on iOS or Android
  • USB-C fallback wired connection in addition to Bluetooth
  • Recovery via standard 12/24-word BIP39 mnemonic shown on device at setup — compatible with other wallets
  • D'CENT publishes new token listings weekly on a public roadmap
  • Backed by IoTrust (South Korea), a wallet brand shipping consumer cold-storage since 2018

Cons

    Features & Benefits

    Sign Transactions With Your Fingerprint

    • Enroll up to two fingerprints during setup. To sign a transaction, tap the D'CENT to wake it, place your enrolled finger on the sensor, and the transaction is approved — no PIN typing, no passphrase.
    • The biometric verification lives inside the device's secure element. Your fingerprint template is encrypted and stored on-device and never leaves the wallet.
    • Lost or stolen? The fingerprint is paired with the device's secure element — a thief can't extract unlock credentials from the wallet even with physical possession.

    Robust Security — Four Defenses

    • CC EAL5+ certified secure element — encrypts private keys, signs transactions on-chip, and auto-resets if a tamper attempt is detected.
    • Offline key generation — the private key is generated inside the hardware, never exposed to your phone's browser or installed apps.
    • Encrypted Bluetooth — the radio channel is encrypted end-to-end and only public-key data is transmitted over the air. Your private key never leaves the chip.
    • Automatic firmware authenticity check — every time the D'CENT powers on it verifies the firmware signature, preventing unauthorized software modifications.

    4,900+ Coins / 100+ Networks

    • Manage assets from 100+ blockchain networks in a single D'CENT app: BTC, ETH, USDT (multi-chain), BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, DOGE, TRX, ADA, AVAX, SHIB, LINK, POL, DAI, LTC, MATIC, UNI, OP and dozens more.
    • D'CENT publishes new token listings weekly on their public roadmap.
    • Wallet setup takes less than 5 minutes on either iOS or Android.

    In-App Staking and dApp Web3

    • Stake PoS coins (Cosmos, Polkadot, Tezos, Tron, Cardano and more) directly from the D'CENT app via D'CENT-operated or partner validator nodes.
    • In-app Web3 discovery framework lets you connect to dApps and DeFi protocols on EVM-compatible chains and Solana, signing approvals with your fingerprint.
    • Buy, swap, and earn modules built into the D'CENT mobile app.

    iOS + Android Bluetooth Pairing

    • Bluetooth pairing gives iPhone users a smooth signing experience — no Lightning-to-USB-C OTG adapter required, unlike Ledger Nano X or Trezor Safe 5 connected to an iPhone.
    • USB-C is also available as a fallback wired connection on Android and desktop.

    Security Architecture

    CC EAL5+ Certified Secure Element

    • The secure element inside the D'CENT Biometric Wallet is certified to Common Criteria EAL5+, one of the highest CC certification levels available in a consumer hardware wallet.
    • EAL5+ provides protection against a substantial range of attacks including physical probing, side-channel analysis and invasive fault injection.
    • The chip encrypts your private keys, processes all signing on-device, and auto-resets if a tamper attempt is detected, bricking the key rather than leaking it.

    Offline Key Generation

    • Your private key is generated directly inside the hardware, never exposed to the phone, browser, or any installed app.
    • The 12/24-word BIP39 recovery phrase shown on the D'CENT screen at setup is the only time the seed data is briefly readable, and it never leaves the device after that.

    Encrypted Bluetooth

    • Bluetooth pairing is encrypted end-to-end between the D'CENT Biometric and your phone.
    • During a signing flow only public-key data is transmitted over the radio channel. The private key signs inside the secure element and only the signed transaction is broadcast back to the app.
    • The Bluetooth stack is the reason iPhone users get a frictionless experience with no Lightning-to-USB-C adapter; the encrypted public-only traffic keeps the radio a non-leaking attack surface.

    Automatic Firmware Authenticity Check

    • At every power-on, the D'CENT Biometric runs an automatic firmware authenticity check and refuses to boot if the firmware signature has been tampered with.
    • This blocks unauthorized software modifications — a critical defense against supply-chain attacks and 'fake hardware wallet shipped to victim' attacks.

    Biometric Lock

    • The fingerprint template is encrypted and stored on the device's secure element. It never leaves the device and is not stored in the cloud or the phone app.
    • Even with physical possession of the wallet, a thief cannot extract unlock credentials — there is no PIN to brute-force and the fingerprint template is paired to the chip.
    • You can enroll up to two fingerprints per device, allowing for a backup finger or shared access with a trusted partner.

    About D'CENT (South Korea)

D'CENT is a cryptocurrency hardware-wallet brand owned by IoTrust Co., Ltd., a Korean cybersecurity company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. IoTrust is one of the earliest wallet makers to build consumer cold-storage devices around biometric authentication, and the D'CENT Biometric Wallet — a credit-card-shaped device with an embedded fingerprint sensor — remains the brand's flagship.

D'CENT sells two consumer device lines: the Biometric Wallet (covered here) and the newer D'CENT S, a non-biometric NFC card paired with the D'CENT Recovery Card for offline seed recovery. Both devices pair with the same D'CENT mobile app on iOS and Android and use the same secure-element and firmware-authentication stack.

IoTrust ships worldwide through the D'CENT Shop (store.dcentwallet.com), maintains an active global community on Discord and Telegram, and publishes an open roadmap of new token listings updated weekly. The brand is especially strong in the Asia-Pacific region and is a popular alternative-brand recommendation in European and North American reviewer roundups for buyers who want a card-style mobile-first alternative to Ledger or Trezor.
