What the Slush Card is
Slush is the self-custody wallet for the Sui blockchain, built by Mysten Labs - the company behind Sui itself, founded in Palo Alto in 2021 by five former Meta engineers from the Diem and Novi projects. The Slush Card is its payment arm, and the positioning is explicit: spend without selling.
Rather than selling crypto and loading a prepaid card, the model turns your Slush wallet balance into spending capacity and settles the amount from that balance afterwards. Independent tracking describes it as closer to a spending limit secured by your wallet assets than a conventional prepaid card, and Slush's own documentation refers to loan repayment - so the balance backs the card instead of being handed over in advance.
Where it stands today
The card is not live. It is at waitlist stage, opened initially for US users with a broader rollout expected during 2026, and joining the list requires connecting a Slush wallet - an unconnected spot is only held for five days. The page is region-gated, so visitors from unsupported countries simply register interest and are told when the waitlist opens in their area.
What has been published so far is the shape of the product: a Visa card, virtual and physical, usable at ATMs, in stores and online, with acceptance stated at 150+ countries and over 130 million merchants, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and full KYC through Sumsub. Issuance and the annual fee are reported as free with a 0% FX markup, but no official fee schedule has been released.
The issuer arrangement
The card is issued through RedotPay's card programme on the Visa network - Sui announced the RedotPay-powered Slush card as a credit card for digital asset payments. RedotPay operates under a Hong Kong licence and is registered in the United States as a Money Services Business with FinCEN. The practical implication is that the card's regional availability follows RedotPay's programme rather than Sui's, which is why the rollout starts narrow.
What is still missing
Essentially the commercial terms. Fees are unpublished - no issuance, annual, FX, ATM or top-up schedule - and cashback has not been disclosed at all, even though Slush says your balance keeps working while you spend, rewards included. Spending, ATM and top-up limits are also unstated. Independent trackers score the card around 3 out of 5 precisely because the terms cannot be assessed before launch.
Who it suits
If you hold assets on Sui and want to spend them without selling or moving them to a custodian, this is one of the cleaner structures in the market, and Mysten Labs' track record is a real point in its favour. But there is nothing to use yet and nothing to price. For cards you can actually get today with published terms, compare Sana Card for the same self-custody collateral idea on Solana, or the wider crypto cards directory.
