Overview

Curve Pay is a smart digital wallet that consolidates all your existing bank cards — Visa, Mastercard, debit and credit, including crypto-funded cards from Binance, Coinbase, Bybit, Crypto.com and other providers — into a single Mastercard-branded smart card. It earns its place in our Crypto Cards directory because it is the only wallet that gives your crypto cards instant cashback stacking, fee-free FX, and the flagship "Go Back in Time®" post-purchase card-switching feature — turning any crypto card into a smarter one.

About Curve

Curve was founded in 2013 in London and has grown to over 6 million customers across the UK and EEA, with billions in payments processed annually. Although Curve is not a crypto-native product (its wallet is fiat-denominated and tied to your existing bank cards), it has become a popular companion wallet for crypto card holders who want:

  • Up to 1% cashback on foreign spend (outside Europe) on top of whatever rewards their crypto card already pays
  • Fee-free foreign exchange (up to £/€100,000 / month on the Pro+ plan) and fee-free foreign ATM withdrawals (up to £/€1,000 / month)
  • A single card on Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or Huawei that can switch funding cards in the wallet — including crypto cards
  • Go Back in Time® — move a purchase from one card to another up to 120 days later

Who It's For

  • Crypto card holders who travel and want fee-free FX added on top of their crypto card's existing rewards
  • UK / EEA residents with multiple payment cards who want one smart card to rule them all
  • Stackers who want to compound a crypto cashback card with Curve's retailer cashback offers (up to 20%)
  • Anyone who wants Go Back in Time® — switch a purchase to a different card up to 120 days later
  • Flex users — split past purchases into instalments after the fact

Curve Pay Plans (2026)

Curve Pay has four subscription tiers, billed in either £ or € depending on your region:

  • Curve Pay (Free): £/€250 fee-free spend abroad, 3 GBiT transfers (up to 30 days), up to 5% retailer cashback offers, 2 Smart Rules, Anti-Embarrassment Mode
  • Curve Pay X (£/€5.99/mo): £/€3,333 fee-free abroad, 1% international cashback (outside Europe), 10% retailer cashback offers, 3 GBiT (60 days), free physical card, £/€300 ATM fee-free
  • Curve Pay Pro (£/€9.99/mo): £/€50,000 fee-free abroad, 1% international cashback, 15% retailer cashback offers, unlimited GBiT (90 days), £/€500 ATM fee-free, free physical card, 1% Pro cashback at 6 chosen retailers
  • Curve Pay Pro+ (£/€17.99/mo): £/€100,000 fee-free abroad, 1% international cashback, 20% retailer cashback offers, unlimited GBiT (120 days), £/€1,000 ATM fee-free, free physical card, 1% Pro cashback at 12 chosen retailers, airport lounge access, £/€1,500 free business-card spending

Cashback & Rewards

Curve's cashback has three layers, all of which stack with the rewards of your underlying crypto card:

  1. Retailer cashback via Curve Rewards — up to 20% at selected retailers (UK customers only); up to 5% on the Free plan
  2. International cashback — 1% on all spend outside of Europe on Curve Pay X, Pro and Pro+
  3. Pro merchant cashback — additional 1% at 6 (Pro) or 12 (Pro+) retailers chosen by you, subject to monthly caps (£25 / £50)

Security & Custody

Curve is an FCA-regulated e-money institution in the UK and is authorised across the EEA. Card details are tokenised — Curve doesn't store raw card numbers on devices or share them with merchants at payment time. Customer protection up to £/€100,000 applies on all plans, and Section 75 protection is available to UK customers using a credit-card funded Curve transaction. Card-lock is instant — one tap freezes the card while all underlying funding cards remain safe.

Note: for UK customers, funds held on the Curve Cash Card (the optional stored-value wallet in the app) are not covered by FSCS protection. The default Curve experience routes charges straight through to your funding card, so this risk doesn't impact most users, but if you store a balance in the Curve Cash wallet you should be aware of the difference.

Verdict

Curve Pay is the most powerful card-aggregation wallet in 2026, and it uniquely extends cashback, FX and Go Back in Time® benefits to crypto cards loaded into the wallet. While it's not crypto-native itself (the Curve card is Mastercard-denominated fiat and you deposit no crypto directly), it's the only wallet that meaningfully improves every crypto card you put into it. If you live in the UK / EEA and hold a Crypto.com, Coinbase or Binance card, Curve Pay is the strongest all-in-one companion wallet; expect to pay from £/€5.99 / month for the most useful tier.

Features & Benefits

Curve Pay's features are uniquely post-purchase smart — features that add value after the transaction, not just at payment time.

All Your Cards in One Smart Wallet

Add unlimited funding sources (debit and credit cards from any bank — including crypto cards) to Curve Pay. Tap to pay with a single Curve Mastercard, or connect to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or Huawei Pay to spend from your phone. No matter which underlying card is selected, only the Curve card details are shared with the merchant — extra privacy.

Go Back in Time®

Made a purchase on the wrong card? Curve's flagship feature lets you move a transaction to another card in your wallet — up to 30, 60, 90 or 120 days after the original purchase, depending on plan. Unlimited transfers on Pro / Pro+.

Anti-Embarrassment Mode

Declined at checkout? Curve automatically falls back to a backup card in your wallet and covers the spend — you never face an awkward declined moment again.

Smart Rules

Create rules that auto-select the right funding card for each purchase — e.g. "Business expenses on my Amex, groceries on my rewards debit card, foreign ATMs on my crypto card with 0% FX." Free plan: 2 rules; paid plans: unlimited.

Curve Flex (Pay Later + Instalments)

Curve Flex lets you split past purchases into instalments or take a balance transfer / cash advance. Curve Flex Instalments breaks down a single purchase into 3, 6, 9 or 12 instalments.

Fronted

Fronted enables you to pay bills that don't normally accept credit cards (such as UK tax payments) using any credit card in your wallet — earning points / cashback on payments that would otherwise be debit-only.

1% International Cashback

On Curve Pay X, Pro and Pro+, earn 1% cashback on all spend outside of Europe — abroad or online in non-£/€ currencies. Stack it on top of your crypto card's existing cashback.

Fee-Free FX & ATM Abroad

Depending on plan, up to £/€100,000 of fee-free foreign spending per month and up to £/€1,000 of fee-free foreign ATM withdrawals per month. Curve eats the typical ~3% FX fee banks charge — a major saving for travellers.

Curve Protect — Customer Protection to £/€100,000

All plans offer customer protection up to £/€100,000, and Section 75 protection is available to UK customers on credit-card-funded purchases through Curve.

Free Physical Card on Paid Plans

A real plastic Curve Mastercard ships free on X, Pro and Pro+ plans. Works online, in-store, at ATMs and via tap-to-pay; syncs with the app for spending insights and card management. The physical card even works when your phone is offline — it simply syncs your transaction history when you reconnect.

Wearables

Curve Pay supports smartwatches, payment rings and other wearables powered by the Curve Pay wallet — including Huawei devices (the Huawei x Curve partnership gives Curve Pay direct-to-hardware integration on Huawei phones).

Curve Pay Wallet (Curve Cash)

An optional stored-value wallet inside the app: hold a fiat balance, top it up from any funding card, and spend from it directly without needing to compose a transaction every time.

Spending Insights

Categorised spend breakdowns across every card in your wallet; full transaction timeline, instant alerts and budget insights in the Curve app.

PayPal Integration

Connect your PayPal account to Curve and combine PayPal's online checkout flow with Curve's card-switching and cashback benefits — pushing Curve-enabled spend through PayPal's merchant network.

Supported Cryptocurrencies

Curve Pay is a fiat-denominated smart wallet, not a crypto-native card. Cryptocurrency is never directly deposited into Curve. But Curve's value for crypto card holders is the wallet-aggregation angle — you add your crypto-funded cards to the wallet and they inherit Curve's benefits (cashback, FX, Go Back in Time®, security tokenisation).

Funding Cards You Can Add (including crypto cards)

  • Any Visa or Mastercard debit / credit card from any bank
  • Crypto.com Visa Card (US Visa Signature Credit or Global Prepaid)
  • Coinbase Visa Debit / Coinbase One Card
  • Binance Visa Card
  • Bybit Card
  • COCA Card
  • Cryptomus Virtual Card
  • Any other Visa / Mastercard branded crypto card issued by a regulated EEA / UK-compatible bank

Fiat Currencies Supported Directly

  • British Pound Sterling (GBP)
  • Euro (EUR)
  • Currency conversion at the Visa / Mastercard network rate for non-£/€ transactions, with the FX fee waived up to your plan's fee-free cap

Cryptocurrencies Not Supported Directly

Curve does not let you deposit USDT, BTC or ETH into the wallet — you fund via cards. To pay with crypto through Curve, fund a supported crypto card first (e.g., Crypto.com, Coinbase, Binance) and add that card to your Curve wallet; Curve then applies its cashback and FX benefits on top.

Conversion Mechanism

The routing layer of Curve charges your selected funding card in its native currency. When the merchant's currency differs from your funding card currency, Curve's FX engine converts at the interbank rate — with the FX fee waived up to your plan's fee-free cap. No crypto is converted on the Curve side — that happens on your crypto card's wallet before the funding card is debited.

Fees & Limits

Curve Pay's fee structure is dominated by the subscription — either Free, or a monthly £/€ fee for the premium tiers. Beyond that there are FX fees above the fee-free spending cap, ATM fee caps, and cashback limits under the Fair Use Policy.

PlanMonthlyFee-Free Spend AbroadATM Fee-FreeGBiT WindowFree Physical Card

Curve Pay Pro+£/€17.99£/€100,000£/€1,000120 days, unlimitedYes

FX fees on excess spend are typically in the 1–3% range above the fee-free cap, depending on plan and card currency. ATM withdrawals above the fee-free allowance are charged at the standard foreign-withdrawal rate (typically 3% to match banks).

International funding cards (cards not denominated in £/€) are fee-free:

  • Pro: up to £/€1,000 / month
  • Pro+: up to £/€5,000 / month

Pro cashback benefit: the additional 1% cashback at 6 (Pro) or 12 (Pro+) chosen retailers is capped at £25 (Pro) or £50 (Pro+) per month for the duration of your subscription. The international 1% cashback on non-€/£ spend is also subject to Fair Use limits — see Curve's Fair Use Policy for full details.

Annual fee: N/A — Curve bills monthly; cancel any time.

Issuance / setup fee: Free signup. A real plastic Curve Mastercard ships free on paid plans (X, Pro, Pro+).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Curve a crypto card?

No — Curve Pay is a fiat-denominated smart wallet and Mastercard. It doesn't take crypto deposits directly. It's listed in the Crypto Cards directory because it is the only wallet that aggregates crypto cards from Crypto.com, Coinbase, Binance, Bybit and others into one smart card — giving you Curve's cashback, fee-free FX and Go Back in Time® benefits on top of your crypto card's existing rewards.

Which countries is Curve Pay available in?

Curve Pay is available across the UK and the EEA (European Economic Area) in 2026. Customers outside these regions cannot sign up. Paid-plan pricing is denominated in £ or € depending on your region.

How much does Curve cost?

Curve Pay is free on the Curve Pay plan. Premium plans start at £/€5.99/mo (Curve Pay X), £/€9.99/mo (Pro) and £/€17.99/mo (Pro+). Higher tiers unlock more fee-free FX abroad, longer Go Back in Time® windows, higher ATM fee-free allowances and additional cashback benefits. There is no annual contract — you can cancel any time.

Can I add my Crypto.com / Coinbase / Binance card to Curve?

Yes — any Visa or Mastercard branded card from these providers can be added to your Curve wallet. Once added, you can pay with that card through Curve, and Curve's cashback, fee-free FX and security features stack on top of the card's own rewards. Crypto-conversion happens on your crypto card provider's side before the funding card is debited.

What is Go Back in Time®?

Go Back in Time® is Curve's flagship feature: it lets you move a purchase you've already made to a different funding card in your wallet — up to 30, 60, 90 or 120 days after the original purchase, depending on plan. Free plan allows 30 days / 3 transfers; Pro+ allows 120 days with unlimited transfers. It's the only post-purchase card-switching feature of its kind.

Does Curve support crypto withdrawals or crypto deposits?

No. Curve does not deal directly in cryptocurrency. For crypto-to-fiat withdrawal use cases, you would use your crypto card provider's own product (Coinbase Crypto-to-Fiat, Crypto.com App, Bybit Card, etc.) and then add that provider's Visa / Mastercard to Curve to enjoy Curve's aggregation, cashback and Go-Back-in-Time benefits on the resulting fiat transactions.
