What BipTap is
BipTap is a crypto banking platform that wraps fiat accounts, cards and wallets into one app, aimed at people who want to move between crypto and traditional banking without jumping between providers. It offers three personal account tiers - a free Lite virtual account, a PRO offshore account and a Premium offshore account - plus a business account, and more than 20 cryptocurrencies can be deposited and spent across them. The platform is open but running in public beta, and the app is available on iOS and Android.
The cards and what they cost
Cards come in virtual, plastic, metal and premium formats, and which you get depends on the account you choose. On the free Virtual Account you get one free virtual card with no issuance fee and no monthly administration fee, plus 0.1% cashback on spending. Moving up changes the economics substantially: the PRO plan costs $300 to open with an $80 annual administration fee and gives five free virtual cards plus a physical card, while Premium costs $5,000 to open and $5,000 a year but removes most transaction fees, includes unlimited virtual and physical cards, a personal banking manager, 24/7 support and 1.5% interest on deposits.
Where the money actually goes
The tiering is designed around fee elimination rather than rewards. Deposits cost 5% fiat and 3% crypto on the free plan, 3% and 3% on PRO, and 2.8% on both for Premium. Transfers out cost 1% to a wallet and 1.5% to a bank on Lite, 0.6% on both for PRO, and nothing at all on Premium. Interest on deposits runs at 0%, 0.7% and 1.5% respectively. Read together, the free plan is a low-commitment way to test the product, but anyone moving meaningful amounts will find the deposit and transfer percentages more expensive than the $80 PRO plan's fixed annual fee.
Beta caveats
BipTap is explicit that this is a beta: the site carries a standing notice that bugs may be encountered and reports them to support, and it has recently reworked its wallet and bank-account architecture with new deposit addresses. The platform markets privacy through offshore account status, account abstraction and data anonymisation, with funds described as contractually protected through its financial service providers rather than covered by deposit insurance. Those are meaningful differences from a licensed bank, and worth weighing before using it as a primary account.
BipTap is beta-stage and pairs virtual, plastic and metal cards with offshore account options, which places it near UltimoPay and its offshore USD accounts, and alongside multi-card programmes such as Multicards. Cashback is negligible at 0.1%, so card format and account access are the real selling points — see the crypto cards directory.
