ETHack 2026 — Hack for Good

ETHack 2026 is a 24-hour, student-run hackathon taking place at ETH Zürich on September 12–13, 2026. Under the theme “Hack for Good,” 100 selected students from different academic disciplines will work in teams of up to four to create practical prototypes addressing real-world problems. The hackathon is not limited to computer science students. Designers, engineers, scientists, researchers, storytellers and students from the humanities are encouraged to participate. Applicants may register with an existing team or apply individually and find teammates during the team-formation session on Day 1. Participation is free for selected applicants. Meals, snacks and a workspace for the full hackathon are provided with support from the event sponsors. Who Can Apply: Students belonging to the ETH Domain — ETH Zürich, EPFL, Eawag, WSL, Empa, PSI. Coding experience is not mandatory. Participants with skills in product design, research, engineering, storytelling, prototyping, pitching and idea validation can also contribute. Judging Criteria: Potential impact, Technical execution, Alignment with the “Hack for Good” theme. What Participants Should Bring: Laptop, laptop charger, valid student ID, any personal rest or overnight gear. Note: “ETH” in ETHack refers to ETH Zürich, not Ethereum.
