Goat Funded Trader (GFT) is a proprietary trading firm built around the philosophy of being the "Greatest Of All Time" — its traders are called "GOATs." With over 1 million traders trusting the platform and a 4.8-star rating from 5,000+ verified reviews, GFT has established itself as a major player in the prop trading industry. The firm also holds a 4.2 rating on PropFirmMatch (1,021 reviews) and a 4.7 rating on TradingPilot.
GFT's tagline is "Trade like the Greatest" and its key promise is "Get Paid 100% on Demand" — traders can manage up to $2 million in simulated capital and keep up to 100% of their profits (with the 100% Profit Split add-on). The firm offers both Forex and Futures trading divisions, with MT5 available across its platforms. GFT is not a financial broker, financial advisor, or financial representative, and does not accept client deposits — all trading is done on simulated accounts.
The firm offers six challenge models to suit different trading styles: the 1-Step Model (fastest path), 2-Step Standard (most popular), 2-Step GOAT Model (balanced 8%/6% targets), 2-Step PRO Model, 3-Step Model, and a Pay Later Model. GFT is described as a "Hybrid Prop Firm" that removes profit targets and time limits in some models, offering traders freedom while still ensuring proper risk parameters — making it ideal for swing traders, part-time traders, or those who want to scale gradually.
What sets GFT apart is its "Reward Guaranteed" promise, bi-weekly payout cycle, a unique Goat Guard risk protection feature on funded accounts, and generous add-ons including a 100% profit split and on-demand first reward. The firm supports 6 languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Hindi, Italian) and offers regular promotions including BOGO (Buy One Get One) deals and new customer discounts.
GFT's process is designed to be straightforward: choose a challenge model, pass the evaluation phases by meeting profit targets while staying within risk limits, and become a Funded GOAT Trader eligible for bi-weekly payouts.
Select from six challenge models based on your trading style and experience level. Pick the account size that fits your strategy — GFT recommends choosing a balance that makes you feel confident.
Trade on a simulated account and meet the profit targets while staying within the daily drawdown and maximum loss limits. Complete the minimum required trading days (a valid trading day requires at least 0.5% profit of the initial account balance).
After passing all evaluation phases, your results are reviewed. If successful, you become a Funded GOAT Trader with access to a simulated funded account and bi-weekly payouts.
Request payouts every 14 days (bi-weekly). Keep 80% of your profits (or 100% with the add-on). The first two payouts are capped at 6% of the initial account size or $10,000 (whichever is lower) — this restriction is removed after your second successful payout.
A single evaluation phase offering the fastest path to a simulated funded account. Best for experienced traders who want to get funded quickly.

Once you become a Funded GOAT Trader, the following reward rules apply across all models:
GFT adjusts leverage between phases to maintain a professional risk environment:
| Phase | Forex | Indices/Commodities | Crypto |
|---|---|---|---|
| Evaluation Phases | 1:100 | 1:20 | 1:2 |
| Funded Phase | 1:50 | 1:10 | 1:2 |
A valid trading day at GFT is when the profit made on that day is at least 0.5% of the initial account balance. This means on a $100,000 account, you need at least $500 profit for a day to count as a valid trading day.
Goat Guard is a unique risk protection feature active on all Funded GOAT Trader accounts. It provides an additional layer of risk management to protect both the trader and the firm. (See GFT's help center for full details on how Goat Guard works.)
At 5:00 PM EST, GFT checks the higher value between the Account Balance or Account Equity, then subtracts the daily drawdown percentage from that value to set the Daily Drawdown Threshold for the next trading day.
Example (5% daily drawdown): Account Balance $105,000, Account Equity $107,000 (higher) → Threshold = $107,000 × 5% = $5,350 → $107,000 - $5,350 = $101,650. Your balance/equity must stay above $101,650 for that day.
The Maximum Loss is a static floor that never changes. Your account equity or balance must never drop below the threshold.
Example (10% max loss): $100,000 account → $100,000 × 10% = $10,000 → $100,000 - $10,000 = $90,000. Your account must never drop below $90,000.
GFT operates two separate trading divisions:
| Code | Offer | Eligibility |
|---|---|---|
| BOGO40 | 40% OFF + Buy One Get One Free | Limited time offer |
| FIRSTGFT | 50% OFF | New customers only |
| Trader | Amount |
|---|---|

| Joe | $4,084.49 |
| Stefan | $2,027.60 |
| Pijus | $840.00 |
| Dhanush | $401.20 |

Does Goat Funded Trader have a consistency rule?
No. GFT does not have a consistency rule on any of its challenge models. This means you can generate your profits in any pattern — whether through one large trade or many small trades — without worrying about consistency requirements.
What is the Pay Later Model at Goat Funded Trader?
The Pay Later Model is a flexible option that allows traders to start their challenge without paying the full fee upfront. Instead, you pay later after demonstrating success. This makes it easier for traders to get started without a large initial investment. See GFT's help center for specific terms and conditions.
