  • Bitnxt’s view: three straight weeks of buying suggest Strategy has returned to a stronger accumulation phase, though the pace may still vary.

The latest Strategy Bitcoin purchase has added another 1,665 BTC to the company’s treasury, taking its total holdings to 847,666 Bitcoin. Michael Saylor hinted at the move with his familiar “Even more orange” post before Strategy disclosed the purchase, alongside a $152 million STRC preferred-stock buyback. The combination suggests the company is once again increasing its Bitcoin accumulation while actively managing its broader capital structure.

That takes the company's total to 847,666 BTC as of September 27, with $6.02 billion sitting in US dollar reserves on the side. With Bitcoin trading around $83,000, this week's batch alone is worth roughly $138 million.

Strategy Bitcoin Purchase Signals a Return to Aggressive Accumulation

What caught our eye at Bitnxt is the momentum. Just last week, Strategy bought 950 BTC for around $76 million. This week's purchase is about 75% bigger.

Rewind a little further and the picture gets even more interesting. Strategy had gone quiet for 10 weeks before jumping back in on August 31 with 4,603 BTC. Now it's three weekly buys in a row, and each one feels like Saylor turning the dial up a notch.

Here's the Part Most People Will Miss

The Bitcoin buy gets the headlines, but the bigger cheque this week actually went to the STRC buyback. That's $152 million this week, on top of $174 million the week before.

To us, that says a lot. Strategy isn't just stacking coins anymore. It's also actively tidying up its capital structure, and it seems comfortable doing both at the same time. The company says its USD reserve now covers 3.8 years, and STRC's BTC credit spread tightened slightly to 49 bps. For a firm that's often criticised for its leverage, those are numbers it clearly wants the market to notice.

Not a Straight Line, and That's Okay

We'll be honest: 2026 hasn't been a pure "buy and never sell" year for Strategy. Between June 30 and August 10, it sold 6,916 BTC across four transactions. That surprised a lot of people in the community, us included.

But zoom out and the core story hasn't changed. Strategy's average cost is around $75,400 per coin, about 10% below where Bitcoin trades today. It's still sitting in profit, and it's still the largest public company holding Bitcoin by a long way.

Our Take

For us, the real signal isn't one purchase. It's the rhythm. Three straight weeks of buying, growing size, and buybacks running alongside tells us Strategy is back in accumulation mode and wants everyone to know it.

Will the pace hold? We'll be watching next Monday's filing just as closely as you. Until then, we'll keep an eye on Saylor's Sunday posts. They've become one of the most reliable signals in the market.
