Strategy CEO Phong Le: Fidelity Leads Bitcoin Banking Race as Goldman, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Citi Fight for Second — Institutional crypto news
Strategy CEO Phong Le says Fidelity leads the company’s Bitcoin Banking Adoption Index with a 71% score, while Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Citi are locked in a tightly contested race for second place.

Wall Street's Bitcoin arms race now has a scoreboard — and the fight for the podium is tighter than expected. Phong Le, CEO of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), says the biggest US banks are locked in a near dead heat for second place on the company's Bitcoin Banking Adoption Index, with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Citi each scoring within three points of one another, according to BeInCrypto.

The clear frontrunner sits outside the traditional banking pack: Fidelity tops the 25-institution index with a score of 71%, extending the asset management giant's long head start in digital assets over its Wall Street rivals.

The index — a new benchmarking effort from the world's best-known corporate Bitcoin accumulator — grades institutions on the depth of their Bitcoin trading capabilities, custody services, and product offerings. Strategy set the ranking's initial score at 32%, compiled from public data through July 10 — a figure that captures how early institutional Bitcoin adoption still is, even after years of headlines.

Le expects the picture to sharpen quickly. With more crypto product launches anticipated across the industry this year, he said the rankings could gain considerably more clarity by year-end — meaning today's three-point scramble for second may look very different by December. Bitcoin, meanwhile, traded near $64,539 on Sunday, up about 1% over 24 hours.
