Circle Just Minted $750M USDC on Solana — and Has Now Minted $68B There in 2026 Alone — Stablecoins crypto news
Circle minted another $750 million USDC on Solana, bringing its 2026 issuance on the network to over $68 billion and highlighting growing institutional stablecoin demand.

Circle minted approximately $750 million in USDC on Solana on July 14, according to on-chain monitoring by Onchain Lens. The transaction was executed from Circle's verified wallet address 7VHU...4BmE and represents routine liquidity issuance to meet institutional and ecosystem demand on the network.

The single-day figure is notable, but the cumulative number is the real story: Circle has minted a total of approximately 68.26 billion USDC on Solana across 2026 so far — roughly $68 billion in stablecoin liquidity issued on a single blockchain in under seven months.

What a $750M USDC Mint Actually Means

USDC minting on Solana does not mean Circle created $750 million out of nothing. Every USDC minted is backed 1:1 by cash and short-duration US Treasury holdings held in Circle's reserves. When Circle mints USDC on-chain, it means an institutional client, exchange, or liquidity provider deposited $750 million in US dollars with Circle and received the equivalent in USDC tokens on Solana in return. The fiat goes into reserves. The tokens go into circulation.

Large single-day mints typically signal one of three things: an institutional client moving significant capital into on-chain DeFi positions, an exchange restocking its Solana USDC liquidity to meet trading demand, or a market maker deploying capital in anticipation of increased activity. In any case, it reflects real capital entering the Solana ecosystem — not leveraged activity.

Why $68 Billion on Solana in 2026 Is a Bigger Deal

The $68.26 billion cumulative figure reveals how decisively Solana has established itself as a leading stablecoin settlement chain. Solana's combination of sub-second finality, negligible transaction fees, and deep DeFi liquidity has made it the preferred destination for high-frequency stablecoin activity — payments, trading, yield farming, and institutional settlement.

Solana now holds the second-largest USDC supply of any blockchain, behind Ethereum. USDC on Solana powers the ecosystem's DEXs — Jupiter, Raydium, Orca — its lending markets, its payments infrastructure (Solana Pay), and increasingly its institutional custody and settlement layer. The $68 billion minted in 2026 is a measure of how much real economic activity is running through Solana's rails.

For Circle, which listed on NYSE (ticker: CRCL) earlier this year, Solana's stablecoin dominance is a direct revenue driver. Circle earns yield on the Treasury holdings backing all USDC in circulation. More USDC on Solana means more reserves earning yield — making the $68 billion 2026 figure a business metric as much as a blockchain one.

At the pace of 2026 issuance, Solana is on track to have facilitated over $140 billion in USDC minting by year end — a figure that would have seemed extraordinary even two years ago. The stablecoin economy on Solana is no longer an experiment. It is infrastructure.
