BitMine Immersion Technologies has purchased another 53,501 ETH in its 65th consecutive week of buying, lifting its Ethereum treasury to 5,901,112 tokens worth approximately $14.8 billion.
4.9% of Total Ethereum Supply
The latest acquisition pushes BitMine's holdings to 5,901,112 ETH, representing 4.9% of the total Ethereum supply of 120.7 million tokens. At a price of approximately $2,511 per ETH as of Aug. 30, the holdings are valued at about $14.8 billion. The purchase marks 65 straight weeks of Ethereum accumulation by the company, which is led by strategist Tom Lee. BitMine has been steadily building its Ethereum treasury throughout 2026, with the stated goal of reaching 5% of the total ETH supply. The company's relentless buying has made it one of the largest single holders of Ethereum in the world.
86% of Holdings Staked
Approximately 86% of BitMine's Ethereum holdings are staked, earning network rewards and fees. The company stakes its assets through its own validators and external staking providers, generating yield on its massive ETH position while maintaining network security. Staking rewards add to the company's treasury without requiring additional capital outlays, creating a compounding effect on its holdings. The staking yield also provides a revenue stream that can offset operational costs and fund further Ethereum acquisitions. With the Ethereum network's current staking annual percentage rate, the rewards generated from nearly 5.1 million staked ETH represent a significant income source.
Slowing Purchase Pace
While BitMine continues to buy Ethereum every week, the pace of purchases has shown signs of slowing as the treasury approaches its 5% supply target. The latest acquisition of 53,501 ETH is smaller than some previous weekly purchases. In the prior week, the company bought 26,659 ETH, bringing holdings to 5,206,790 ETH at that time. The gradual approach allows BitMine to accumulate without significantly disrupting Ethereum market dynamics. The company's consistent buying pattern has nevertheless drawn attention from market participants tracking large-scale ETH accumulation by publicly traded companies.
Listed as BMNR on NYSE
BitMine Immersion Technologies trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BMNR. The company's aggressive Ethereum strategy has drawn comparisons to Strategy's Bitcoin treasury approach, where the Virginia-based company has accumulated 845,050 BTC. BitMine has applied a similar model to Ethereum, using its public listing to raise capital for ETH purchases. The strategy has positioned BitMine as a proxy for Ethereum exposure in traditional equity markets, attracting investors who want ETH exposure through a regulated stock exchange vehicle. The company's stock has attracted attention as Ethereum's price has recovered through August, with ETH trading near $2,455 at recent levels.
Implications for Ethereum Market
BitMine's massive accumulation raises questions about Ethereum supply dynamics and potential scarcity effects. With 4.9% of the total supply concentrated in one corporate treasury, the available float for trading and DeFi applications is effectively reduced. If BitMine continues buying toward its 5% target, the company would need to acquire approximately 130,000 more ETH. The consistent weekly buying pressure from BitMine, combined with Ethereum ETF inflows and DeFi demand, could contribute to reduced available supply on exchanges. However, the company's staking of 86% of holdings means most of its ETH is locked and not available for sale, potentially reducing sell pressure while the accumulation continues.
