Aurora Intents Sui Integration Unlocks One-Signature Cross-Chain Execution

Aurora Intents integrates Sui for one-signature cross-chain execution.

Summary :

  • Aurora Labs added Sui as a supported destination for its Intents Connect product on September 17, 2026.

  • The integration allows users from external blockchains to execute single-signature transactions directly into Sui applications.

  • Intents Connect removes manual bridging, wallet switching, and SUI gas acquisition by leveraging NEAR Intents liquidity solvers.

  • Sui represents only the second non-EVM architecture integrated into the service alongside Solana.

  • The infrastructure expansion comes as wallet providers adjust Sui services and institutional products expand.

The launch of the Aurora Intents Sui integration on September 17, 2026, introduces a streamlined cross-chain execution pipeline, enabling users on external blockchains to interact with Sui applications through a single cryptographic signature. Developed by Aurora Labs, the Intents Connect infrastructure bypasses traditional cross-chain hurdles by converting raw asset transfers into completed protocol positions. Rather than forcing users to manually bridge capital, switch wallet software, and acquire native SUI tokens for gas payments, the service automates execution directly within the user's initial application interface.

Traditional cross-chain bridges deliver tokens to a destination wallet address, leaving the end user to perform additional transactions to deploy those assets. Aurora Labs estimates that roughly 75 percent of application interactions require immediate downstream actions like lending, staking, or liquidity provision. The new destination integration connects source capital directly to targeted smart contract functions on Sui, marking a structural departure from fragmented multi-step bridging workflows.

How Aurora Intents Sui Integration Eliminates Multi-Step Bridging

Under the operational model of the Aurora Intents Sui expansion, transaction complexity moves entirely behind the application interface. For example, a Solana holder seeking to deposit USD Coin into a lending market on Sui previously navigated a cumbersome process. The user had to connect a Solana wallet, deposit funds into a cross-chain bridge, open a compatible Sui wallet, purchase SUI tokens on an exchange to cover gas, and finally execute a deposit transaction inside the target application.

Through Intents Connect, that workflow compresses into a single approval signature. The user authorizes the transaction from their original wallet interface, while underlying solver networks handle asset routing, gas conversion, and final contract execution on Sui. The outcome is a fully funded position delivered directly to the user without requiring them to hold native gas tokens beforehand. Solvers absorb friction and gas risks in exchange for competitive transaction execution margins.

Underpinning this mechanism is NEAR Intents, which supplies cross-chain liquidity networks, settlement layers, and solver market architecture. Solvers compete within an open market to fulfill user intents at optimal exchange rates and lowest execution latency. According to operational metrics, the NEAR Intents solver network has routed more than $30 billion in cumulative cross-chain volume to date. This approach reflects a broader industry shift toward privacy-enhanced and abstracted cross-chain liquidity channels, similar to developments seen in NEAR confidential liquidity programs.

Solving Non-EVM Architecture for Cross-Chain Intent Solvers

Integrating Sui presented distinct technical hurdles due to its underlying architecture. Unlike Ethereum-compatible virtual machines, Sui utilizes an object-centric data model, distinct address formats, and unique transaction construction rules written in the Move programming language. Consequently, standard EVM smart contracts cannot directly interpret or process Sui state changes without customized conversion routines.

Aurora Labs Chief Executive Officer Declan Hannon emphasized that Sui represents only the second non-EVM environment integrated into Intents Connect, following Solana. Engineering solvers to interact seamlessly with Move-based object states required specialized transaction builder modules capable of parsing non-EVM call data accurately. By standardizing these technical differences at the solver level, application developers gain access to multi-chain liquidity through a single integration point rather than maintaining custom cross-chain infrastructure.

Developer tools and technical specifications shipped alongside the integration announcement. Applications seeking to implement Sui destination capabilities can access transaction construction parameters, address translation specifications, and SDK modules immediately. This standardized framework allows decentralized applications to ingest capital from external chains without forcing users through third-party bridging portals or multi-sig approval delays.

Institutional Liquidity and Evolving Sui Protocol Dynamics

The arrival of simplified cross-chain execution coincides with shifts across the Sui user environment and institutional sector. On the consumer side, wallet access faces near-term adjustment following Phantom's announcement that it will terminate Sui wallet support on September 24, requiring users to export seed phrases to compatible native providers. Intent-based abstraction reduces user reliance on specific browser extension wallets by allowing transactions to initiate from external chain interfaces seamlessly.

Simultaneously, Sui's decentralized finance sector continues to mature rapidly. Protocol metrics show NAVI Protocol managing approximately $124.6 million in total value locked, with active borrowing standing near $65.8 million across supported assets. The network's stablecoin infrastructure has scaled dramatically, driven by USDsui deployments and processing over $111 billion in stablecoin transfers during January alone. These inflows demonstrate growing demand for automated yield strategies and frictionless access across liquidity pools.

Institutional interest in Sui asset exposure continues to expand through regulated financial channels. Coinbase introduced native SUI staking rewards for qualified clients in July, offering annualized returns between 1.4 percent and 3.3 percent. Furthermore, CME Group launched cash-settled SUI futures contracts in May 2026, providing institutional traders with standardized risk management tools covering standard 50,000 SUI and micro 5,000 SUI contracts. As capital access expands across both regulated exchanges and decentralized venues like institutional perpetual futures platforms, intent-driven transaction routes give protocols direct access to global liquidity pools without forcing retail traders through complex manual steps. Can intent-driven execution convince multi-chain capital to migrate permanently into Move-based protocols?
