Anthropic's $2 Trillion IPO Slips to November. The Revenue Line Doesn't.

Bitnxt news cover showing Anthropic's $2 trillion IPO valuation, rising AI revenue chart with 300% growth, and a calendar highlighting the IPO delay from October to November.

Summary :

  • Anthropic has moved its planned IPO from October to November, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

  • Investors are discussing a valuation of roughly $2 trillion with proceeds of up to $100 billion.

  • Annualized revenue exceeded $65 billion by July, up from about $9 billion at the end of 2025.

  • Investors expect roughly five gigawatts of computing capacity by the end of 2026, nearly doubling by 2027.

  • Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire argued a listing would bring Anthropic disclosure and accountability.

The Anthropic IPO has slipped from October to November, and the numbers being discussed have not shrunk with the calendar. The Claude developer could seek a valuation of roughly $2 trillion and raise up to $100 billion in what would rank among the largest public offerings on record, people familiar with the preparations told a major financial newspaper. The extra month buys one specific thing: the ability to show investors third-quarter financial results before the roadshow. Annualized revenue exceeded $65 billion by the end of July, up from about $9 billion at the end of 2025, and investors expect the pace to top $110 billion by year-end. The valuation conversation is loud, as Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire put it. The revenue line is doing most of the talking back.

What the Anthropic IPO terms would mean

Nothing is filed yet. No public registration statement exists, so the exchange, ticker, underwriters and share count remain unconfirmed, and Reuters separately reported the offering could slide until after the US midterm elections in November, though sources said the election itself is not expected to matter much. The $2 trillion figure, if it holds, would make Anthropic the most valuable AI company ever to go public and would test whether public markets will pay private-market multiples for a business whose costs scale with its ambition. Investors cited in the reporting expect Anthropic to have access to about five gigawatts of computing capacity by the end of 2026, and nearly double that by the end of 2027, meaning the capital intensity behind the revenue story grows in lockstep with the top line.

The competitive picture complicates the pitch. Anthropic was reportedly considering releasing another model as OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra gained traction among business customers, with Ramp's data putting Astra at about 13% of enterprise AI spending against 8% for Claude Fable. Anthropic's annualized run rate still exceeded OpenAI's reported $40 billion in July, and internal forecasts cited by Reuters put 2028 revenue at roughly $190 to $200 billion, but long-range projections are marketing until a registration statement makes them math. For now, the story public investors are being asked to buy is hypergrowth revenue against a cost base defined by data centers, chips and electricity.

The safety chief who wants you to slow down while you buy

The most interesting tension in the offering is Dario Amodei himself. Anthropic's chief executive has kept calling for tighter controls on advanced AI, asking developers to slow the release of increasingly capable systems while safety measures catch up, even as his company prepares to sell shares to anyone with a brokerage account. The position is coherent, slower releases reduce deployment risk, but it is also financially load-bearing: if limits on model releases slow sales, the $2 trillion valuation has a governance question embedded in it. Anthropic and Accenture announced a commitment of at least $2 billion over five years to support independent evaluation of frontier models, with Accenture's Faculty unit conducting evaluations, red-team testing and safety alignment work, a program that gives independent evaluators access similar to company employees. Once public, Anthropic would have to disclose which safety commitments are material, and shareholders will read the risk factors with the revenue model on the same page.

The crypto industry has skin in this game beyond curiosity. Claude branding has already been co-opted by scammers, and every AI agent economy pitch in crypto references model providers whose pricing power the IPO will make public. The industry's own AI token rally and the blockchain-for-AI-verification thesis both price in the assumption that frontier labs keep growing at anything like this pace, and the AI credit cycle that funds the buildout now has a market benchmark to mark against.

Why Allaire wants the same disclosure for Anthropic

Allaire's endorsement is the crypto-native angle worth keeping. Drawing on Circle's own transition to a public listing, he argued that public markets require audited accounts, regular reporting, independent board oversight and stronger accountability, and that markets being jittery, the calendar crowded and the valuation loud are exactly why disclosure matters now. "There's been a lot of debate about whether now is the right moment for Anthropic to complete its IPO," he wrote, adding that the valid, serious concerns about the technology argue for, not against, a listing. He was careful to separate securities reporting from AI regulation: disclosure rules would not replace government oversight of advanced AI, and Anthropic would remain subject to AI, privacy, cybersecurity and competition rules regardless of the offering. A listing adds securities-law obligations on top: periodic financial reports and material risk disclosure to shareholders.

That is the real test of the November window. If Anthropic files, the first S-1 risk factors section from a frontier lab becomes the most-read AI document of the year, and the gap between private valuations and audited reality gets measured in public. If it slips again, the market will read the delay the way it always does. Either way, watch the registration statement, not the headlines: until it exists, the $2 trillion number is a negotiating position, and November is a hope, not a date.
