Arthur Cheong is a Singapore-based crypto investor and fund manager who founded DeFiance Capital, a crypto-native digital asset investment firm that uses fundamental research, analytics, and onchain analysis to identify high-conviction investment opportunities across the digital assets space. Cheong became particularly associated with early investment and research around decentralized finance, backing category-leading DeFi protocols such as Aave, dYdX, and Lido. Before founding DeFiance Capital in August 2020, his career included cryptoasset trading strategy at JST Capital and a growth and strategy role at Zilliqa, preceded by commodities trading experience at BP. His investment interests have since expanded beyond DeFi into blockchain infrastructure, Ethereum scaling, interoperability, Web3 gaming, and broader digital-asset sectors, with DeFiance Capital's selected portfolio including LayerZero, Offchain Labs (Arbitrum), Consensys, and Axie Infinity.

Personal hot wallet security incident — over $1.5M in NFTs and digital assets stolen in a targeted attack; Cheong publicly attributed it to a sophisticated campaign and warned the broader crypto community.

Three Arrows Capital collapse impacted DeFiance Capital, which had been incubated within the 3AC structure. Cheong distanced DeFiance as an entirely separate and independent fund and moved to restructure operations.
