Las Vegas Sands Corp. is an American casino and resort company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. Founded in 1988 by the late billionaire Sheldon G. Adelson, the company has grown to become the second-largest casino company in the world by revenue, generating US$11.3 billion in 2024. Unlike many competitors, Las Vegas Sands pivoted away from its Las Vegas Strip roots to focus almost exclusively on the Asian integrated resort market, with flagship properties in Macau (through Sands China) and Singapore (Marina Bay Sands).
The company operates through two primary segments: Sands China (a 69.9%-owned subsidiary listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. In 2022, the company sold its last Las Vegas Strip properties — The Venetian and The Palazzo — to Vici Properties and Apollo Global Management, completing its strategic shift to Asia.
Las Vegas Sands is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol LVS and is a component of the S&P 500 index. The Adelson family maintains a controlling 54% ownership stake. The company employs approximately 40,300 people worldwide and is recognized as a Tier-1 operator in the global gaming industry.
