Ledger Nano X and the Nano Classics line
The Ledger Nano X (alongside the original Nano S, Nano S Plus) is the iconic Ledger hardware wallet: a small USB-C dongle with an embedded secure element (CC EAL5+ certified, ST33JW330M safe chip). The Nano X adds Bluetooth for mobile pairing (the original Nano S did not have Bluetooth). 現在 (2026+) the Nano line has been refreshed with the new Ledger Nano Gen5 (2025 release — 2.8" lightweight screen) and the Ledger Nano Classics line (the older Nano S / Nano S Plus / Nano X form factors repositioned as 'reliable backup signers').
Ledger Stax™, Flex™, and Nano Gen5 — the 2023-2025 new product lines
Beyond the Nano Classics, Ledger has launched three newer hardware product lines: Ledger Stax (2023 release, designed by Tony Fadell — original iPod designer — 3.7" curved E Ink screen, magnetic stacking, 4.5/5 rating, premium flagship), Ledger Flex (2024 release — 2.8" Gorilla Glass E Ink screen, USB-C, the 'new standard' mid-premium wallet, 4.3/5 rating), and Ledger Nano Gen5 (2025 release — 2.8" lightweight screen, accessible mid-range hardware signer, 4/5 rating). All four lines share the same CC EAL5+ secure element — the price differences are about aesthetics, screen size, and form factor, not core security.
Ledger Wallet™ app — full crypto-finance super-app
Ledger Wallet™ is Ledger's mobile + desktop app (Ledger Live was the desktop predecessor): provides Buy, Swap, Earn, Manage, and view-all-coins functionality with the private keys secured by the Ledger hardware signer (the device signs all transactions; the app constructs and submits transactions but never holds the private keys). Ledger Wallet features as of July 2026: Buy / Sell (integrated fiat on-ramp), Swap (compares 50+ providers' rates across 100+ chains for the best execution price), Earn (staking + Earn Simulator), P&L Insights (real-time profit / loss tracking, transaction history, Crowd Favorites showing what other Ledger users are holding), Convert Cash to Stablecoin, and Ledger Recover™ (optional paid seed-phrase recovery — encrypted 3-shard backup with Ledger + Coincover + Coinlist).
Manage 15,000+ cryptos — broadest hardware-wallet support
Ledger supports 15,000+ cryptocurrencies and tokens across 100+ chains — the broadest crypto support of any hardware wallet in this directory. Headline chains: Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, TRON, Tether, BNB, Solana, Cardano, Dogecoin, Chainlink, Polygon, Polkadot, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dai, Shiba Inu, Uniswap, Optimism, Arbitrum, USD Coin, and many more. New coins / chains added regularly via Ledger app updates.
CL Card — crypto cashback card
Ledger's CL Card is a crypto cashback debit card: pay everywhere Visa is accepted, collect cashback rewards in stablecoins or BTC. Free to apply for Ledger users. Integrates with the Ledger ecosystem — the user maintains Ledger hardware-secured custody with everyday spend functionality. Cashback rates vary — see CL Card Cardholder Agreement.
Ledger Recover™ — optional paid seed-phrase recovery
Ledger Recover is an optional, paid (subscription) recovery service: the user's 24-word seed phrase is encrypted and split into three shards stored separately with Ledger, Coincover, and Coinlist. If the user loses both their Ledger device AND their written-down seed phrase, they can recover the wallet via identity-verification-based shard retrieval. No single provider, including Ledger, has the full seed phrase on its own. This preserves self-custody while making recovery practical for users who don't trust their own safekeeping. Users can opt out and use a pure hardware-only backup (written-down seed phrase) instead.
Secure element — CC EAL5+ ST33JW330M safe chip
Ledger devices use a CC EAL5+ certified secure element (the ST33JW330M safe chip from STMicroelectronics) — the highest certification level commonly achieved by consumer-grade secure elements. The private keys never leave the secure element even when the device is used to sign transactions. The combination of secure element + Ledger's proprietary BOLOS operating system (running on the secure element) is what makes Ledger the gold-standard hardware wallet for consumer crypto.
Ledger Live and software-wallet integrations
Ledger is the de-facto hardware wallet that every major software wallet natively integrates with: connect Ledger to MetaMask, Phantom (Ledger for Solana / EVM), Trust Wallet, MyEtherWallet, Keplr (Ledger for Cosmos IBC), Solflare, and many others to use the Ledger as the private key signer while the software wallet forms the UX.
